I guess tomorrow is a day ending in Y so it is time for CENTCOM to consume resources that would be better spent in INDOPACOM.

Like, I assume an FBI agent who put on his windbreaker, walked out of his office and robbed a house could be charged with robbery, whereas if the same agent is executing a search with a warrant, he could not be charged. But I am curious about the lines and details.

/5….because the things we thought of as stable guardrails relied on the people running them adhering to a shared set of values. No values, no guardrails.

/4 There is no Do You Want Society To Collapse Y/N prompt. There is no American ur-adult to step in and stop things from going to far. There ain’t to deus in this machina. If we are led by ineffectual, craven, dishonest, or evil people, all the bad things can absolutely happen ……

/3 What we’re seeing with the accelerating collapse of America is that the things we see as guardrails are not self-enforcing — they rely on norms and values and when those norms and values are ignored or defied the guardrails no longer work.

/2 I stood there with half an eyebrow and was sullen. Why, I demanded to God, is there not some kind of pop-up screen where I get asked if I really want to shave off my eyebrow Y/N? Why is there no guardrail? But Guardrails are ineffective against human indifference, incompetence, or evil.

/2 Unprincipled, servile, and morally treasonous to America are all very apt descriptions of Mark Levin.

The people planning this know this but they’ll be talking about deportation knowing it means extermination. Source: Wannsee and earlier.

When I was a rookie prosecutor processing low-level arrestees I noted that most Hispanics had a rap sheet with a dozen aliases. It took me a while to figure out that the system thought paternal and maternal surnames were aliases so would spit out every combination of all the names as aliases.

/6 These are features, not bugs. The violence will escalate and self-justify — any resistance or protest cited as reason for the violence. The “private” violence will broaden outside the immigration arena. The worst people in America will see their chance.

/7 Heritage? They will gloat. FedSoc? Their attitude will be “well, this is not idea, but thank God we got rid of Chevron deference.” The modern American evangelicals will give thanks.

/8 At some point, in my opinion, violence against not just the government doing it and the private people joining the violence but the soft-target think-tank, media, and academic aparatus that empowered it becomes morally and philosophically justified.
