The av Auderghem facade reeks of trying too hard and épater les bourgeois. I find it intimidating. And depressing in its decline. They need to implement their project.

I have always hated this building. Posterity may yet redeem it.

@nialloconghaile.bsky.social Do you have any views on overall satisfaction with ECHR across Europe? See also Roland’s SStack piece.

I wonder what other ECHR states have to say about the convention. I read that the ECHR was open to an update, in view of current refugee issue.

Not a mega budget decision back in the day: 16mm and studio for tiny TVs.

Cambridge Footlights was a nursery for sketch writing in the sixties; so this wasn’t pointless elitism.

That version I haven’t seen. The door was no doubt in the restoration atelier. I had the same fine panelling when mine was taken away.

If I wince every time I see the unrestored version of the de Lune front door in pix. The one near the XL ponds.

If that’s wood attached to the new facade, it will deteriorate. Wood does badly on facades here, as it isn’t maintained, apart from window frames, sometimes.

Here’s mine: ‘More people are leaving Hollywood than ever before. Decades of experience are being wiped away in real time. Employment in Los Angeles’s film, television, and sound sector dropped around 30 percent between 2022 and 2024…’

FAFW’s opening sequence is still very noisy with grain swarming. The Italian version of the scene is better, viewed in the extras.

Thank you for our earlier DM exchange on this project, Devan. I was not disappointed. Both Fistful and FAFDM are rejuvenated. The day-for-night looks much better in Fistful; previously it looked flakey.

If they hold debt in each other’s portfolios, stress could induce a super portfolio effect across all portfolios. May need to update risk assessments!

Completion of street works will add to the joy of my seventieth. Could De Brouckere complete before then?

The French police wanted to avoid any risk of any boat people drowning. Risk-assessment redone?

Agree re Akram. Where is that office interior? Strong whiff of failing processes in the the police, institutional Bladerunner. Cinematography is brill.

Old BR logo is top design for me. If SNCB logo is Art Nouveau, we’ll need to rewrite some books.
