Yes! HOME is a game changer in many ways and gets into some of the very personal elements of the genre, as others have described: One's connection as a protector to a space, its community, and the people in it.
At first I was like, huh, mapmaking and mechs. And then it worked so well.

The implication is that on the other side of this trough is "the slope of enlightenment," where expectations level out and people find new ways of using the tech.
But I'd be okay if it hit the cliffs of utter and total destruction instead, one of the least known parts of the hype cycle.
