No joke. I had to explain to my daughter (who recently has completed the entire Ranma 1/2 run) why I didn’t watch the entire series as a kid, and she’s in awe I ever survived those dark times.

Does it feel like he’s mugging a bit too much? I don’t feel like I saw a single non-obvious gag in the trailer. I don’t doubt Liam Neeson’s chops, but I’m worried the writing isn’t where it should be.

The best! Oh it’s been so long since Builders 2…

We do have season 2, but never really played through the first season. The Play date has been best for overcast line waiting days for me.

I’m not saying it was ever a requirement for me, but that includes every home console they’ve put out? Handhelds have been spotty in this regard, and it’s not like Mario Kart is chopped liver, but I don’t think it’s a crazy expectation.

I don't think it's been a terrible launch, but it's maybe a bit surprising how little first party unique output is here? I assumed the Switch 2 launch had been held back with supply chain issues, tariff concerns., etc. I think people look at a Nintendo launch requiring a mainline Zelda or Mario.

And like those other stretches, it’s not based on fact, just self perception. We are no worse than other cities statistically, and in fact we’ve been down year over year.

Sadly when we went it was their last weekend.

We went to the Ranma pop up cafe when we were in Tokyo with my eldest, and she got very interested, watched the new series, and has been binging the original series. She’s almost done with the whole thing, which I certainly never did.

I didn’t generally have that with my parents, but would watch sitcoms when I’d stay with my grandparents. With my kids, when we have time to watch stuff together, it tends to be watching episodes of an old series of cartoons. Anything from Looney Tunes to Steven Universe, to Ranma more recently.

Consolidation is good. We don’t need them to spread.

I usually only make a point to have it while traveling. Nothing wrong with a shaka chicken.

This is my exact experience when I stopped by that Ueno shop in February. I saw a few games that seemed priced for actual people in Yokohama, but nothing in Tokyo.

Super Noah’s V-Ark It’s just Beat Saber, but you’re directing animals in pairs to the ark.

You play a lot of open world games, which make this type of encounter difficult to design around. Shadow of the Colossus might be worth trying, as the bosses are pretty much the entire game. I haven’t played Elden Ring, but lots of folks swear by the bosses in it.

Hmm. The modern Zelda games are bad examples for boss fights, but I’d put the SNES game as a good one. Symphony of the Night, Shadow of the Colossus, the Metroid series all stand out to me.

I agree that some boss fights are poorly considered, but a good boss fight can be such a satisfying crescendo. It can also really highlight the tools and techniques you’ve spent the game building. A game that drops in an enemy that just has more HP or overpowered attacks is a bad example for sure.

I would go to GameFAQs via the browser to download things like the extra tracks in Samba de Amigo.

Two points I’d want to touch on. First, the kids continue to be alright. Not universally, but they never were. And the ones that are disaffected and checked out? I can’t blame them. Second, yes, things are sucking. And I’m not going to jinx it by saying things could get worse. But it’s been worse.

I spent a long time mistaking my love of that opening segment with loving Project Eden (which is still pretty good, but the gap is noticeable)

I played at least the first chapter of it. I remember it being competently made, but not enough charm or intrigue to get me to buy through the storyline.

Agreed. Yet it’s maybe still the fourth best piece of BttF media.

It’s been a while, but I want to say I heard about her moving to do another broadcasting gig in Florida? I can’t find any reference to it now.

Not sure which is the cart or horse, but many large retailers have almost entirely stopped carrying physical games. Is this the market dictating this, or the publishers?

I usually only fall back on plurals to further process of elimination, if I don’t have a better guess.
