I knit, I bake, I read, I run. (contexo, coquo, lego, curro) English in Canada and Lefty in the tweedy Bennite sense. Deliberately dull. Deliberately kind. Deliberately anti fascist. Radio fan and Archers addict, maker of pretty decent curries.

I've taken to wearing a vest for longer trail runs because our spring/summer season has been unseasonably hot, but mainly for my phone and keys and a soft flask for just in case water. Parkrun is a quick in and out and then swatting mosquitoes and blackfly

My pleasure, I make papercut greetings cards using a similar method. Though I am closing my business at the end of the monthj.

It's paper cut to leave negative spaces, the paper left varies in width to create the illusion of depth and shadows

Yeah, I was a bit surprised that she let that go, considering that Ian is family, and was so concerned about Helen that he set up his husband to keep an eye on her on that date. But typical Helen, only interested in the protagonist Helen, the non Helens are just the NPCs of her privileged life.

Most of his slogans he has stolen from former Australian PM Tony Abbott - Axe the Tax being the most obvious one. There is nothing authentic about PP

Hear hear, what matters are Scheers words and actions, condemn him for those, not for the accident of birth that gave him duel citizenship. Also a duel citizen, equally proud of my birth and adopted countries.

As I said, actions matter, that's what makes him despicable, not his heritage
comment in response to post
Othering people because of their heritage is a slippery slope. It's just as ugly when it comes from the left as when it comes from the right Why are you upset about Scheers dual citizenship, it was his from birth? Even if he sought it, so what. It's actions not accidents of birth that matter.

Being an Englishman in Canada (but not a monarchist), I am also irritated by having to use the King to send a message to the US. But, I am also a pragmatist, and firmly believe that we are stronger together united against the tide of Fascism that the current presidency is enabling and enacting.

I think the message to the US is that Canada isn't America Jnr, it's a reminder to that 🟠💩that we are part of a much larger commonwealth of nations. A statement, that Canada while is strong independent and sovereign, also does not stand alone and vulnerable to the whims of fascists and bullies.

Transphobic gay men don't know or understand our history at all. It's shocking the number of times I have been (incorrectly) lectured online by some pissy transphobic twink about times I lived though.
