I started this to post and read stupid stuff about video games I'm playing and not think about politics, but I'm losing that battle.

I have to admit that is much more legible.

I left DC in 2012 - I’m so glad that the ‘next train’ signs remain absolutely untouched, and yet still work!

I totally forgot about this. I rented it and finished it in one weekend. Absolutely ruled.

I'm not loaded with disposable income, but I keep saying to myself 'I wish Kotaku had a Defector.' I keep eyeing Aftermath, and the bylines, and it seems like it more or less is. Give me some more time and I'll convince myself to fork over money for you guys too.

You can probably keep this going - Me in 2008 reading Anathem: Could you really use hunks of metal as weapons of mass destruction? Me in 2050: Incinerated by tungsten rod from space. Me in whenever reading Reamde: I don't remember what happened in this.

Me in 2001 reading Cryptonomicon: This crypto currency idea is neat and far fetched, but cool! Me in 2035: Dead because crypto farms, then AI supercomputers, made the air unusable by mammalian lungs.

It is a real race to the bottom to define 'woke' at this point, there is literally no cohesive interpretation when defining it as a negative. I enjoy using it now when I mean that something is right or just. It might be so far gone definitionally that reclamation is possible. Not sure its worth it.

Don’t worry - you can unsee it. It took me a while but I got there.

Evaluated by the same people that thought the public should see that Mavs AI hype video. That was weird enough to reach peak cinema, it transcended through sheer incomprehensibility. AI can’t give you ‘prestige look.’

I finally watched Narcos, after finishing season 1 I thought ‘well what’s the point now, Cali doesn’t have the juice.’ But then I started and realized I get so much more Pedro in season 2, less ‘lame white guy who was a really good Corninthian in Sandman, but is otherwise hopelessly boring.’

I don’t mean this to discount Schreier’s ability to foretell gaming events - but I listen to Triple Click, and have seen him attempt to will a rerelease into existence before, I think around a state of play even! To no avail. Even his powers can’t overcome Square’s inertia.

‘Inscript the Dark god into a rotting body!’ - coolest incantation, and lyric to a song I almost certainly won’t enjoy listening to.

Do you ever get tired of having good takes? (I won’t believe a remaster is coming until I put a digital copy in my cold, dead digital hands, assuming it’s a San Junipero future where I can play it from beyond when my brain lives in the cloud - because if it happens, it must be after I’ve died.)

I contracted with one of the big agencies for about 5 years - you never noticed the photo portraits of the president and VP at every entrance. I toured a NARA FRC last week. When you walk in you're immediately confronted by the haunting visages of Trump and Vance. Poorly lit and badly composed.

I'm still usually happier when any non-AAA game leaves out voice acting. I'd rather read. I also watch everything with subtitles on. This started when there were babies in the house and I could ill afford to disrupt their sleep. So thanks to my kids I no longer want to listen to anything.

And thus I learn you can’t edit on Bluesky - which I respect. That’s supposed to be ‘era’ not ETA - you can tell I’m doing this from my phone where I often text ‘ETA’ and autocorrect remembers.

Christ - I also dislike these companies, but principally for being large evil companies. I hate when my hatreds dovetail with the hatreds of my enemies. They won’t trick me into liking them! I’d love to imagine this is just a false flag to win over progressives.

Modern conservatism has always had some nihilism at its core - I used to think this came from their application of their Christian principles - life here is a test and no more - but they apply it to all but themselves. What purpose does govt serve if not to extend our lives? Isn’t that the contract?

It really did make it so much better. I bounced off it on the Wii the hardware constraints and control scheme were off-putting. Blasted through the remake. Playing XCX remake now, and great, but XC is so much better, perhaps because of the (relative) restraint (and about 20% less pointless drivel).

Put that in your 'popular knapsack with many different locations' and smoke it, I guess. Really the king of the malapropism - also of New York where he is beloved by at least 1 person probably.

- Looks great despite the Switch being about as powerful as a 2017 Android Phone Cons: - 90% of the characters - Nearly every line of dialogue - The plot. It's fine but not quite cooking in the way 3 or even 2 (warts and all) did - Combat UI. Improved yet still illegible - Worst Nopon in series?

My favorite is the conservative 'concern' that we will not receive 'high quality healthcare'... What sort of quality healthcare do they think we are getting now? Have they been to a doctor's office in the last 20 years?
