Usually a software developer and/or engineering manager for a medium sized game company. I like the SF Giants, Sacramento Kings, C, and alternative rock, whatever that is

That's something they don't tell you when you're buying your first home. Sure, the monthly nut might be higher, and you have to budget for maintenance, but the real shocker is the sharp drop in monthly income without all the crime revenue.

I lived in Los Angeles during this era, and the printouts would invariably call for an impossible turn on or off Sunset or Santa Monica, an issue I would have seen coming if I were navigating off the Thomas's Guide (or intuition), but somehow those Mapquest printouts just turned off my brain.

You really, really should do this. And then when you hit your G-wagen goal, extend the campaign to cover a $3.8 million starter home in Palo Alto.

I can't remember what I had for dinner last night or if the memorial I attended was last Sunday or the Sunday before that but since yesterday my brain has been singing in maximum fidelity Huey Lewis and the News' "If This is It," and I just checked and it's getting the lyrics right.

You are absolutely correct that I don't ever want to hear the sound of his voice and holy shit.

This is a fantastic development for the guys whose careers stalled after they played Gavroche

This was the first LP I ever bought. So, yes, I have this on vinyl... somewhere.

I'm missing the point here a bit, but how wonderfully weird is it that the 10,000 Maniacs happened? A high school senior and a bunch of Fredonia State guys doing socially conscious college radio fare wind up with three platinum records? And, like, they were really good.

It didn't matter much in the end, but yesterday's Mets-Astros was the worst yet: bsky.app/profile/umps...

This is just a common sense improvement and in the interest of fire safety we should make swimming pools mandatory. Before we’re accused of being anti-housing: it’s fine for your ADU’s pool to be only 15,000 gallons.

Noting that I don't see, like, anything, "Crash" would be a solid choice, but to me it's "Forrest Gump," my least favorite film of all time. And it beat some actually great movies - "Pulp Fiction," "The Shawshank Redemption" (and "Quiz Show" was pretty neat)...

I enjoyed it! Had a nice time, played the campaign, remember very very little else about it. I'm not even going to glance at it in Steam because every time I say something like the above I check and discover that I have 47 hours played.

I get many reminders that I'm getting older but one of the most prominent is the amount of time I need to wait since my last meal to be able to run in relative comfort. It's at nearly three hours now and goes up by five minutes a year it seems.

Classy, low-key, respects boundaries. A stark contrast to the disgraceful LiMu Emu.

It’s the old adage - three weeks without food, three days without water, three minutes without air, three seconds without parking
