Last two @abacusdataca election polls demonstrate why one should use demographic results of opt-in polls with extreme caution. On the eve of the election Abacus reported that Liberals had a 14-point lead among persons 18-29. Their next poll had CPC up by 9-points in this demo.

Update on this story: The Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council has issued a statement announcing it can no longer accept emails about CTV Your Morning and Rachel Gilmore due to receiving a “large number of complaints” www.cbsc.ca/make-a-compl...

Tech Fascists: We shall weaken the nation, destroy the economy, replace the dollar with crypto, replace people with AI, and create new Network State cities everywhere. Normie Journalists: Folks, this is total chaos and incompetence with no structure or plan.

The internet has numerous stories of Lutnick claiming companies will pay *higher* taxes under Trump, exploding Trump’s tariffs-will-replace-taxes strategy. Lutnick gives used car salesmen a bad name.

Trump/Lutnick contradict Trump’s tariff strategy by claiming the gold card will create jobs for people *who will pay taxes*. Facebook and Instagram have removed video receipts but our FP had the story. financialpost.com/news/economy/t…

Oh yeah, respectable journalists definitely need to do whatever they can to maintain access to this stuff. Fuck the AP, there are new hats!!!

Nice to see Elon’s net worth fell by ~8% or roughly $32 billion today. DOGE has been successful at cutting something.

Hamas is a brutal, barbaric terrorist organization and the common enemy of the Israeli and Palestinian people and all of humanity.

Eventually the Adams case will trickle down to someone who will just follow orders and dismiss it. Make that person historically infamous. (Recall it was Robert Bork who eventually followed Nixon’s order to fire Archibald Cox)

I referenced this the other day at an event and got the sense that most people had never heard of it, but looking to be ahead of its time! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aUt...

“Jacobs bought her home for $7,000 in 1947, rehabilitated it, and sold it 24 years later for $45,000. …Five years after that interview, it sold again, for $3.3 million; today, the city assesses it at $6.6 million.”

After Kristen Welker let National Security Adviser Michael Waltz lie and evade on NBC's "Meet the Press," she wound up her interview by asking him for his Super Bowl pick. That's how you normalize fascists and tell them you're friendly enough that they can come back later and lie some more.

Musk’s Starlink connects to all smartphones…

I do wonder how much this remarkable moment and picture in 2019, which went viral, is a reason for his nutty threats against Canada now.

@hcrichardson.bsky.social “"Before taking office, Mr. Trump told top aides to think of each presidential day as an episode in a television show in which he vanquishes rivals." The media, especially TV networks like CNN, MSNBC and the 3 blind mice, are the willing transmitters of the show.

The TikTok ban debate is a distraction from bigger issue that Congress has neglected for years, Nicole Wong, tells @kara. As Obama's former deputy CTO, former VP and general counsel at Google, and Twitter's former legal director of product, she’s one of the internet's original content moderators.

Republicans say they fear violence vs. themselves and family. Yet Democrats and journalists must face the same threats presumably but it doesn’t change their behavior. Funny that.

Incisive and intriguing piece by @ShannonGormley.bsky.social: Chrystia Freeland talks tough about Trump. Here’s why Mark Carney’s strategy is even riskier

@msnbc.com instead of a countdown clock implement a Trump-lies counter

“What a fiasco for Trump!”

🚨NEW: Donald Trump has renewed his attacks on MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, calling her “the enemy of the people” and hinting he may try to take her off the air. REPOST if you stand with @maddow.msnbc.com against Donald Trump!

This isn’t just a moronic lie. It’s more than an insult against an ally. Trump is using disinformation to justify applying unwarranted & hugely mutually damaging tariffs as a tactic to try to force an ally into giving up its sovereignty. It’s a hostile takeover attempt. Or overt economic warfare.

The story the media tried to ignore on Inauguration Day is that Trump's rapid mental decline was on full display -- from rambling, slurred digressions about wall building materials to paranoid conspiracy and revenge fantasies And there's 4 years to go. My new column www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

@WabKinew suggests we buy local which could be helped along and get the attention of Trump’s billionaire cabinet by large tariffs on: -Amazon, Amazon Prime, Tesla, ads on Facebook, X and Google, fees for Fox News, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, WWE, UFC, PayPal, Crypto and NYSE

We are now describing bribing the President of the United States to approve a merger as "dialing down tensions"

Trudeau did Canadians a favour by delaying his resignation and not allowing for an early election. It gave the Conservatives some extra rope to define themselves and for the U.S. to provide a key election issue, do we want a properly run state or the United States. (h/t Graham Spry)

Carney’s decision to appear on The Daily Show was a brilliant strategy. While the program had a modest audience in Canada of less than 100k on Slice, it has generated untold numbers of viewers/readers on other Canadian media in the last 24 hours.
