and not just people replying Pessi or Penaldo..

like the look of Maghnes Akliouche at Monaco. 23yo, left-footed, 15 GA Ligue 1 & 4 GA UCL. Had been Liverpool, Man Utd interest for reported 59m fee - but if they are getting Wirtz and Mbuemo/Cunha.. Maybe Mitchell can get it done as a parting gift.. 🤷

haha - would be if it were The Chronicle :) He's from Blyth.. (3,3,4)

I'm equally baffled by Delap's move to Chelsea - he'd better hit it out the park right away, otherwise he'll drop down into the abyss of Chelsea's second and third squads..

We have a CEO about to leave, and we sacked the DoF last week (with the suggestion DoF/manager have been at each other's throats for 11 months).. I'm not sure we're approaching this window in the best shape to be honest..

Yeah - we're clearly underestimating the pull the cartel clubs have - even if they're on their arses.. Mind you, I think Guehi was uncontested bid last summer - and we still managed to humiliate ourselves there. Maybe this is the sort of "edge" that Mitchell was supposed to bring to proceedings.

Heigh-ho, onto the next.. My only concern is just this lingering sense that we're just very slow (for whatever reason) at this stuff - and generally only able to get things over the line if no-one else is involved.. I don't remember us winning a competed bid for a player - maybe Botman..

Yeah - always a risk off the back of a "hot" season.. Just hope we go for someone **like** Mbuemo who has some technical trickery, positional savvy, as well as finishing - so we can break down some of these low-block teams - as opposed to just raw pace..
comment in response to post
For sure.. but we have to plan for the worst e.g. say if Isak gets injured for 2-3 months and we're lining up in the UCL with Wilson or Calvert Lewin.. Might as well go home at that point..
comment in response to post
honestly, if we go for DCL imma start flipping tables.. 17 goals since the 2021-22 season. He's absolute garbage..

Mbuemo feels like Maddison couple of years ago.. Lot of expectation from fans, logical move etc.. but he goes somewhere else. Hope I'm wrong..

Bluesky needs to add this to the roster..

do we have accepted emojis for "helmet" "melt" and "wet-wipe"? .. asking for a friend..

I'm also mystified by the fixation on Trafford - he was god-awful last time he was in the PL, and a good record in the Championship counts for little IMO..

raiding Southampton... sounds about right..

poor scoring record, low ceiling, frequent injury history - sounds a perfect fit

wish Eddie would be as ruthless with Wilson as he is with Sporting Directors.. A soft-touch with knackered players, but an absolute assassin with the suits..

haha... now back to our scheduled programming..

Yeah - clearly been something simmering with MItchell vs Howe all this time, as you say.. And after the whistle Sunday EH clearly had the ear and a lot of goodwill from the Chairman, and made his play. Not saying rightly or wrongly..

we're going to end up spending the budget on Trafford, Guehi, Dibling and Calvert Lewin
comment in response to post
why go abroad when we can recruit from Palace and Burnley?!?
comment in response to post
I'm guessing that's what's behind it, for sure.. But honestly, which major successful clubs leave this stuff to the manager?? Every big club has a good, focused DoF/SD..
comment in response to post
No mention of a replacement. Knowing us the new guy will be just about finished with his HR orientation by the time the window closes.. Divvent get a minute's peace with this lot.. Couldn't we just look forward to a decent window and UCL.. ?! Too much to ask?

an absolute shit-show of a club like Man U is signing pre-contracts with Cunha, while NUFC decides instead to have a massive shake-up in the operations leadership instead. Nice..

anyone coming in is not going to be up to speed - I have no idea how this won't be bad for our summer business..
comment in response to post
who in the actual fuck dumps their Sporting Director a week before the most consequential transfer window for years?!? 🤡🤡🤡
comment in response to post
absolute buffoonery from us.. rest of the clubs will be pouncing next week, and we'll be browsing CVs.
comment in response to post
absolute farce.. the week before the window opens.. can't make this shit up..
comment in response to post
FFS - can't believe this is going to help us get shit done.. Was excited to see what Mitchell would do with the PSR shackles loosened - guy was rated more highly than anyone else we were talking to for DOF
comment in response to post
Could be.. let's hope that's the extent of it. He's been collecting 2.5m a year in wages for minimal contribution. I do hope he leaves before we start to really begrudge his continued involvement. Might sound harsh, but this is a real opportunity to draw a line under this kind of sentimentality..

Ornstein apparently reporting NUFC potentially exploring new performance-based contract for Wilson.. FFS.. I will absolutely lose it if we sign him on again..
comment in response to post
his contract is up Dec 2025 - so might be a fee if he moved this summer. But 100% here for it.. Would love Bardghji.

US 30yr bond is still yielding under 5%. Personally, I wouldn't trust this admin to pay me next week, let alone over the next 30yrs.. So I'm bemused as to why 5% interest would tempt me..

good lawd, he's awful..
