What on earth is wrong with you, Peter Baker?

Outdated? Widely accepted? Couldn’t you just have said “bullshit” and “fact”?

Hated Season 1, never went back for more.

Mr. Inskeep, you have reached bottom.

I’ll say it. This guy Kennedy is a sadistic homicidal maniac. He wants people to die.

Some of us older Jews (I’m 66) are pretty fucking sick of the ADL too.

I am unaware of this ability. Who are these officers? Who is going to pay them? Train them? Arm them? The US Marshal’s Service enforces federal court orders, but it is an agency of the DOJ and answers to Pam Bondi.

Because we can’t. Ultimately, the court system is as dependent on voluntary adherence to norms as the rest of government. When (not if) Trump and his goon squad start openly defying the courts, who is going to stop them? As Stalin said of the pope, How many divisions does John Roberts have?

We won’t. Seriously, we will not.

He'd have to be a lot older than that one-year-old. Asshole.

Same here.

I don’t know. I spent a good part of my driving life in the map era and I don’t remember it being such a big deal.

The tell is that he thinks Scalia was “witty.” Oscar Wilde was witty. Scalia was glib.

See, e.g., Cheek v. United States, 498 U.S. 192 (1991).

Airline pilots? In a past life I was required to take a professional interest in the tax protester movement—you know, the people who think “sovereign citizens” can’t be required to pay federal taxes unless, e.g., they live on federal land—and it was amazing how many of them were airline pilots.

Scalia won’t be remembered because he wrote well. (He didn’t.) He will be remembered because a dotard named Reagan nominated an incipient fascist to the Supreme Court and not a single Senator voted against him.

So they watched the convention and the rallies that were full of “mass deportation” signs, and then they voted for the guy whose campaign handed out those signs, and who kept talking about “mass deportation,” but they didn’t vote for mass deportation? You really, really need to explain your logic.

This can’t be real.

I have been failing to persuade my wife about this for years.

All bribes are corrupt. Not all corruption is bribery. You don’t understand the basic concept about which you are writing (and lecturing those who do).

It is both appalling and sad that you think those dead babies have anything to do with saving the Israeli hostages.

This is frightening because it’s the kind of fascist drivel that should end a presidency but will pass without notice because he’s Trump. It’s also funny because Oprah et al have much better lawyers than Trump.

What an asshole response. Go the fuck away.

This earns a block. For the stupidity, not the insensitivity.

First time I saw it I was maybe 12. It played on PBS and my father insisted I watch it with him. Along with Sullivan’s Travels, which I first saw at about the same age, it transformed my understanding of movies.

Was at a comedy club in San Francisco in 1985 and Robin Williams walked in and did an impromptu set. Either that or the first time I saw Top Secret.

I took the tour in 1985 and it was a wreck even then.

You’re giving him credit for raising the profile of autism? By lying about its (non)causes? And by denigrating people with autism? Sorry, but that’s like saying Lester Maddox raised the profile of black people.

Go ahead, defend capitalism all you want, but there is something deeply wrong with a system that enables somebody this stupid to be rich.

This guy is a billionaire, right? So 2 questions. One, how does someone this stupid become a billionaire? Two, why would a billionaire torch his reputation flacking for the destruction of the American economy? Couldn’t he just buy a baseball team if he’s bored?
