As a 1993 child, each JP anniversary is becoming less and less flattering x)

Ironically feels like the most dinosaur heavy piece yet 😅 Love it

queen of the carboniferous skies

Considering the color grading and aspect ratio, it's probably stills from the film.

There are two types of dinosaur games. The ones where you murder them, and the ones where you imprison them

mesozoic seas were cool af

Yeah, although it isn't just sitting interviews. Several of the scientists also have sequences on site, for example the Rhynie Chert (which wasn't in the Chris P. version IIRC.)
comment in response to post
Have you seen the PBS "Ancient Earth" version? Pretty good way to re-watch, get a bit of different spin on it.
comment in response to post
I don't know man, I'm honestly not interested enough in mesozoic dinosaurs to know such specific taxonomy. All I see is some ankylosaur lol
comment in response to post
oh, I wish they reused the ankylosaurus somewhere in here
comment in response to post
lol, what now?
comment in response to post
cuz it reminded me of the old WWD logo :p

Design aside, some of the close-up shots of Alberto was by far the most well rendered stuff in the series as well.

Earth w Chris Packham also had a bit shot here ;) And there is also that wacky dragon mockumentary

Yeah, at the end of the day this is entertainment. And being bored is arguably the worst thing that can happen in that regard.

there is barely a dimension at all*
comment in response to post
No, I would rank LOOP lower. I just think your scoring scale is starting way too high, so there a dimension at all. Like, a B is a great score. This isn't great, it's mediocre - a solid C (straight in the middle). LOOP is a D imo, and was honestly more fun to watch than WWD - despite the inaccuracy.

B is very generous

awesome!

you should check out Val Troll's YT channel if you're interested in the geology of the canaries!

very pretty! love your art

I saw the first 2 eps. First one was pretty weak in a lot of ways. Even the scientists seemed more interested in T. rex than the actual protagonist lol Ep 2 was decent, but the pacing between the scientists and CG fantasies remains poorly executed. But I'm sure kids will be inspired by it.

I think you're long overdue m8 ;)

Well, it will eventually air national channels as well. I know SVT (Swedish state channel) will air it, but that usually happens about half a year after the BBC airing - and with a Swedish narration.
comment in response to post
Not completely. It airs on 28th May on BBC Nordic for us, well, nordics.

He sent me a preview of this a couple of months ago hehe :p I can't afford this at this time, but it's amazing that's it finally out! It's the pinnacle of paleo docu scores
comment in response to post
Agreed. And to presume every criticism comes from hate is equally toxic.

bruh 😍

I'll never understand why the BBC Earth channel always uploads the audio in mono lol, removes all depth

Because JW films are arse??
comment in response to post
Even the director of JW said so lol

I’ll believe it when I see it :p but niice, hype is real for this one

Going to see his new Ocean film in few min:) Long live the king!

pseudodocumentary sounds pretty apt, might use that
comment in response to post
yeah. I hope the rest is good, but I'm just not excited by it from what we've seen. Besides, the science of dinosaurs is cooler than the dinosaurs themselves. And including paleontologists has the potential to make this an actual documentary, rather than a mockumentary like the original.
comment in response to post
ah I see. But no, I'm not really interested in doing spec-evo/alternative timeline stuff.
comment in response to post
tbh, this is the only part of the series I'm looking forward to.
