And I disagree with that take. This is using copyrighted work to create a commercial product without compensating the copyright holders. This isn't about archiving or indexing. This is about profiting _directly_ from the appropriation of another's intellectual property.

I know that "claims" is the proper word to use in a we-are-suing-you context, but the suit quots a 2022 interview with Forbes where Midjourney says that sorting out copyright for so many assets would be impossible, so they didn't try.
