Now on holiday and definitely on the up! Hope you are improving too. I definitely think there is some nasty respiratory virus about which is impacting many people in the UK.

Is it the latest strain of COVID? 6 weeks of being quite ill And still coughing. Grim

They understand perfectly. This is just performative propaganda to whip up their supporters into a frenzy to prevent sensible conversations about how public procurement works and why the framework we have, while not perfect, when followed works well.

2/2 Once I figured it out I stopped trying to move further upwards to VP level as I could not change my gender…or my ethics to treat people equally. Now work with start ups.

I can’t comment on the political impact. I have seen the “men’s club” in action over the past 30 years in the industry I work in. With each economic crisis the focus on DEI is deprioritised as the “big” white men come together to fix the resultant issues. 1/2

Makes sense. Improve trading with the EU which is announced this week. This creates growth, therefore more money, so it can be announced that the WFA is available for more people as a result of improved trading with the EU. With that upside how does Farage criticise improved trading with the EU?

We are having work done in the house. Tradesmen, no women, last week all concerned about all the Polish immigrants getting social housing & first dibs for school places & doctors appointments. Also complained about all the house building & lack of infrastructure investment.

Donald Trump, convicted felon and sexual abuser of women (CF&SBA), gets a free “sky palace” from the Qatari Government. That a CF&SBA could even run for President shows the checks & balances failed American people. He cares only about himself.

What twisted mentality sees the incredible suffering of children and choosing to spin in this way. Truly shocking and heartbreaking.

It is incredibly moving especially as there are many people missing from the memorial due to the way their death was recorded without Covid on their death certificate. Also those whose quality of lives have been significantly impacted as a result of the decisions taken by the Government of the day.

When I first experienced these 20 years ago after my mum and dad spent much of the year in the area I was shocked. It totally changed my approach to purchasing produce from supermarkets. I was back this year and the extent of the polytunnel is even more shocking. Reinforced my personal choices.

They are fabulous! You definitely should plan that trip! 🤩

Do they have crested tits in Scotland? When I lived in Belgium they ousted long tailed tits from my favourite tit position. Birds with Mohawks are the best!

Love the use of the collective noun for goldfinches there!

Neil Hanson, The Divine Comedy, sums it up beautifully in his beautiful song The Dogs & The Horses. These lines always leave me sobbing: But as the curtains close and the last prayers are said All my dogs and my horses appear round my bed They have come to say one last good-bye Goodbye...

I agree with your 1st statement & I sincerely hope you are correct with your 2nd statement. People who are most impacted by Brexit are the ones continuing to support the people who are definitely going to continue to make things worse for them. I grew up within this, compassion is needed.

Perfect tone throughout. Thank you for the last comment regarding trans-men. This was my immediate uttering when I heard the Supreme Court’s ruling. Absurd.

Inviting a convicted felon and sexual abuser of women into the UK Parliament. Wow. What incredible pearls of wisdom will the convicted felon and sexual abuser of women impart?

Another great person gone from the Observer. Thank you for helping support my sanity in very trying times Stewart. Will miss your Sunday columns very much.

It was the globule of blood on my leg that gave away the bite. Immediately cleaned the bite place and as it was so fresh squeezed out some blood in the hope I don’t get a full blown allergic reaction.

You must have been so poorly. Hopefully you recover quickly now.

Don’t forget not just a convicted felon but a sexual abuser of women.

She really is delusional and her family should be putting her welfare first and ensuring she is being looked after. For her children this must be heartbreaking.

RIP Herbert Hound. 🌈 ❤️ Always loved the stories you shared about your beloved Herbert. He was a very good boy.

Off the scale criminality is now politically forgivable? Incompetence it is not, criminality it definitely is.

How is it that a convicted felon and sexual abuser of women can even be a Presidential candidate should be beyond belief.

And Trump is primarily a convicted felon and sexual abuser of women.

Shouldn’t this read Home Office, during Conservative Government, spent etc.?

I offer tea or coffee every time. I love that the team working on my extension bring their microwave and kettle, are using our outside sockets and enjoying sitting in our garden having their lunch together. I joined them when I was working from home. Sadly in the office most of the next 8 days.

We were in Rome. I woke up, picked up my phone to look at the time, saw the headline alert on the front screen and said “F***”. I really wanted it to be a bad dream. For you, Paul’s family and close friends it must bring comfort that he is so loved, so missed by us all and still alive within us. ❤️

Thank you for saying this. It’s driving me nuts that there is the narrative that things had gotten so much better and appropriate levels of spending across all communities and their infrastructure had improved from 14 years of Tory spending cuts. Pushing people to be more protectionist.

Corbyn also treated the results as binding, as did my then MP Jonathan Reynolds. I wrote to them both asking them to consider the fact it was only an advisory referendum. Heard nothing back personally but their public statements were clear. They supported moving forward with Brexit.

Congratulations! I wish I had that to look forward to…those days of being 52 are behind me 😂

I lived in Belgium thanks to the freedom of movement enjoyed within the EU. The noises from the Leave campaign regarding things the UK didn’t have due to the EU were all lies. I had many of those things in Belgium. Even in Brussels!

Yes. Being a Sovereign state has consequences.

Just heard Reeves stating that the size of the Civil Service grew during COVID. True, but not because of the pandemic as implied but because of becoming a Sovereign state due to Brexit. Disingenuous statement from Reeves.
comment in response to post
The number of Civil Servants has increased significantly since Brexit. To be a sovereign state we lost the efficiency of Government that came from being in a trade bloc.

Maths is my strongest point but in real terms it’s a f****** lot. I think the sheer volume does not need any further analysis. Darth would have had him wilt in one stare.

If I mention this convicted felon and sexual abuser of women I use “convicted felon and sexual abuser of women” to keep reminding people and myself that his behaviour is not normal. It is that of a convicted felon and sexual abuser of women and has been enabled to destroy democracy.

My sister had measles twice with vaccination. Very unusual. My dad asked Gp for a home visit as being in a waiting room could impact other patients; they were adamant it wasn’t measles. You can’t get it twice. Immediately quarantined on arrival. It was measles.
