The Sarah Hughes is so good we are staying for another. This might not be the best idea.

After leaving @redwillowbrewery.bsky.social we go to the Castle for Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby and homemade pork pie and piccalilli.

The @redwillowbrewery.bsky.social Rauchbier has now been tapped. Guest appearance from @markwelsby.bsky.social there too.

Guest appearance from Stan!

This should be tapped around 2pm...

Hello Macclesfield! Home today to the @redwillowbrewery.bsky.social Lager and Sausage Festival. Always great fun.

It looks like the @camraofficial.bsky.social Homebrew Competition winner won't be getting their beer brewed this year. Unlike the five category winners of the @skbeerfestival.bsky.social Homebrew Competition who each get their beer brewed at a local brewer r.mailer.camra.org.uk/mk/mr/sh/WCP...

And here we are...

Now on a bus...

Second train...

Off on a day out...

Lovely chilled vibe here at @runawaybrewery.bsky.social on the first Sunday opening. Their Pilsner is pretty damned good too - and perfect for this weather.

Good times at the Kirkstall Brewery Great Exhibition...

First al fresco breakfast of the year...

I see in today's Sunday Times magazine, @petebrownbeer.bsky.social has dipped his toe into the treacherous waters of "the best pubs in..." It's a great piece, of course, but this sort of thing is always courting controversy.

Very much looking forward to help judge the @camraofficial.bsky.social Champion Mild of the North West this afternoon at @petersgatetap.bsky.social . Should be fun.

I was about to leave @petersgatetap.bsky.social when I saw this was on tap....

Today's jam is pear & vanilla. Had to start the prep yesterday as it had to be macerated overnight. Didn't make quite as much as I expected. Might be quite a soft set, too.

As I am down to the last jar of jam, time to make some more. Starting off with blueberry & blackcurrant.

And to finish, full on Torrside with Konigrauch, a smoked barley wine at 11.5%.

Moving on to a shared bottle of this beauty. It's 10% and four years old. Absolutely at its peak.

Couldn't resist a new cask that's just gone on...

Now gone full on Torrside. This is Ashes of Empires, a smoked imperial stout (8.4%)

We have gone slightly off piste. This is rather good though.
