Merz:

Iā€˜ve been using fedora for about half a year now. It’s not perfect but it’s so good to see games run on release day without much thought put into it. If weā€˜d be able to drop all those kernel anti-cheats there would be close to no game not being playable on Linux!

Hetzner.com is my hoster/ DNS management service of choice… but they do have weaknesses when talking about IaC management, so be warned

Extremly cool and probably one of the few acceptable uses for those shock collars. The PCB looks heavy though. How does it feel to other earrings?

How on earth? Haven’t you just got it? Like a week ago?

Fair… but I think it used to be a single character for words that were previously written as ā€šszā€˜ā€¦ which isn’t a sound the german language is prepared for anymore, I think. I mean, we’re not polish šŸ™ƒ

The best thing: there is no german word, that uses the uppercase ĆŸā€¦ except when you capitalize the entire word, like in written screaming!

Maybe to implement it yourself from the SQL/ JS that drizzle kit builds and run on startup? I.e. generate the migrations with Drizzle, execute them on startup via boot mechanism?

Some people just need to be balanced out with the other people by having self-doubt and negative thoughts... Kind of like real life balancing from video games.

Just curious: wieso diese alternativen bewerben? Schlechte Erfahrungen mit Hetzner/ Racknerd? Bieten diese eine bessere Erfahrung?

Good password managers, such as 1password, make this less painful… but it’s a pain nonetheless!

The best thing to say, that it's "Boring" tech. It works just as expected and does everything you need.

My current point of discussion at work is to deprecate and drop a terraform module, which creates a redis cluster… of ~15 resources it creates, half of it is dependant on variables… and half the options are too… understanding this module took me half a day

Meanwhile, my job is often `dropping` standards, because the past standards weren't a good thought to begin with, and the technical debt is like a swamp that has no safe areas...

Phoenix Project and Unicorn project. First one is from a management point of view to an ā€žagileā€œ company (no bs stuff) and the second is from a dev perspective.

I also see passionate developers become shells of their former curiosity and love for engineering. Middle management is a play of power and backstabbing in most companies and most engineers aren't suited for this. They rather solve problems than discuss them in several meetings where is no outcome.

Preventing to paste has been the worst thing the web/ OSā€˜s allowed the devs to prevent… and yes, password fields should be standard!

Any ZSA keyboard (Ergodox EZ, Moonlander, voyager) depending on the amount of buttons you want. Also, check out the platform if you choose the Moonlander, it’s WAY more comfy
