I'm long overdue to (restart and) finish the Nimona graphic novel. Hoping to find some quiet time this weekend to get back into it.

Quantifying my (Achievable) Salamander Win Condition as
1. Airbrush practice
2. Do something neat with cork on the base
3. Lava Glow
Helps when I invariably fail to meet the Perfect Vision Success.
Am I moving goalposts? Yes. Does it help my brain award itself ANY points? More frequently now ๐

I've been trying to apply this mindset to my mini-painting efforts. I'm still trying
As much as I strive for and would love my work to Perfectly Match my vision, I've recently found it helps me to have a stated checklist of (less-than-perfect) Objectives to aim for with each new project.

In light of all the lovely flowers popping up lately, maybe something about spring blooms and rejuvenation? Beauty sprung from outlasting the winter? ๐๐ท

I've always admired how your rigorous worldbuilding has shone through your characters and their stories, and I'm glad that this latest foundation you've laid seems primed to let you build to the sky ๐

You know I revel in a good Paladin like a hyena in a zebra carcass - but the interest for me isn't their moral purity against my own code, it's the testing of their code (to failure).
What can they endure or resist in the name of righteousness? What would (or does) cause them to Break, and how?

Carrot cupcake? I wonder if the cooking alchemy scales down well enough to bake one or two little muffins' worth without committing to a whole eight slices.

As much as I'd LOVE to hear you read one of your books out loud, it must be a TON of work and editing to get something usable!

Iโve seen an artist do โsponsor a personal artworkโ. It was 1/4 of the price of a commission and if you pay it they work on a personal project. I actually love this and wish more artists did it.

It's less that I'm assembling the mini with intent for it to be a standalone masterwork, but rather a reflective "and how well did I do that (airbrush/Slapchop/panel lining) For Me?" exercise as a way to test & improve my skills.
Plus I get a cool little figurine, which is neat. ๐

Your thoughts on literary analysis have actually shaped my mini-painting efforts. "What is the author trying to do here, and how well are they doing that for me" has helped me select and analyze models for "I want to get better at This Technique, what would be a mini that would help me practice?"
