One other piece of news here: People Over Papers, a crowdsourced map for tracking ICE movements, has been flooded with reports as the protests have gained force. “I haven’t slept all weekend,” one project organizer said w/ @tatumhunter.bsky.social @naominix.bsky.social wapo.st/4l2fK2A

At this point, what is it that big tech is even trying to build? GenAI doesn't do what they need it to do, costs too much money, requires too much data, and even if they had enough it would still only do what it does today but with better scores on the benchmarks they made up specifically for LLMs.

Once you understand this, not only are you better prepared to recognize it when it's being done *to* you, but you are also more equipped to deploy the same and attendant mechanisms toward prosocial ends

I'm wondering how many protesters and rioters there are? It doesn't look "large-scale"

Jedyny powszechnie akceptowany argument propisowski na lewicy, o którym wiem, to ten o składce zdrowotnej. Wielu ucieszyło akurat to veto Dudy.

but in the process only strengthened their opponents and alienated the left voters (many stayed home). In the end Poland still has a center-right government that supports Ukraine. They just won't be able to pass any new laws that the gangster president doesn't like (they're too weak in parliament).

And the other candidate was portrayed as some super liberal guy (while he's center-right) who wants to bring a moral revolution to Poland. I would say it was a classic political fuckup like in the US or other places. Trzaskowski (and D. Tusk government) tried to be more appealing to the right-wing

My Polish comment is that there are many reasons for this outcome. Nawrocki wasn't damaged by the terrible things from his past because we have a very divided media sphere. His supporters just described everything as a political attack and lies. Polish society is also conservative for the most part.
