Ohio legislators gutted passenger rail in Ohio with planning for rail being cut. WE NEED TO PUSH BACK columbusunderground.com/ohio-senate-...

How did I not know about canidev.tools before today?!

just a reminder that the dem who ran this campaign unseated a 3x gop incumbent who had never won by less than double digits

Excellent keynote by @jeffreytumlin.bsky.social at the @morpc.bsky.social Transportation Innovation Forum. Love this slide.

the ohio statehouse is once again trying to kill passenger rail in the budget. take 2 minutes this morning to call/email your state senator. text a few of your friends and family (esp those outside of cities) to do the same. @allaboardohio.org put together an advocacy kit to make it easy for you:

When it comes to LLMs, this is the only question that matters. And it’s an issue that can’t be engineered away, because LLMs’ correlation-based epistemology is fundamentally incompatible with scientific-based reasoning. It can be ignored, however. Which has tended to be the default position.

Most amazing thing about this video is that, on a 35mph street with traffic-calming curb bump-outs and street parking, the police cruiser manages to drive from Azelda Street to the alley west of Cleveland Avenue, 1.15 miles, in 60 seconds. Average speed 69mph, twice the speed limit.

The final Ohio budget is locking in ❌ MIPRC funding — GONE ❌ Passenger rail voice on ORDC — GONE Ohio’s rail future is being written without us Tell your Senator: Restore funding & Reinstate the seat Act now: www.allaboardohio.org/advocacy

A rural Austrian village of 8,000 people gets 31 trains per day, while Columbus, Ohio, with a population of 913,000, receives none. We don't need a perfect rail system, but we deserve better than this.

There are several sidewalk ends like this on my street. The answer is: 0. Existing sidewalks are retrofits. 1. You don't own the land the sidewalk is on, so extending the sidewalk costs extra time and money for the City ROW permits. 2. The City has no grant programs for homeowners to add sidewalks.

It's now Pride Month, which means I get to recommend a book which gave several people I know acute cases of gender, and transed several others' gender. The book itself is not about gender. reactormag.com/excerpts-ada...

A cult classic film, but in my head it started several modern trends: greenscreen-dominant filming, heavy post-processing, and crowdfunding for major creative works. Pairs well with The Rocketeer (1991), another film about punching Nazis.

Just saw a comedian say "If vaccines caused autism then America would have trains" and I almost spit out my drink.

Welcome sign Gay, MI

Columbus is 49th of 69 cities in Ohio ranked by bikeability, below even the global average: cityratings.peopleforbikes.org/cities/colum...
