Hohenheim, for instance, is likeable in the manga but in the 2003 series he's one of the most fascinating characters.

Predator 1 and Prey lean towards the Predator being the current/emerging hegemon of the area in a (literally) alien form. Predator 2 definitely suggests the noble hunter ('purer' than the compromised, legalistic human society) while Predators is a tension between those two archetypes you bring up.

Had to click away from the credits when I realised it was all being un-redacted and so spoilers abounded. Before I did, I learned the Undying Flame Boy's name and that there's a character called 'Kamyhun'.

The ending left me cold (by design, admittedly), but I did enjoy, - The Exodus lore-drop - The discussion about if being built on a lie made everything meaningless (very V3-esque) - Sirei turning to the camera to say "wow, you must have really not liked Gaku."

Hundred Line spoiler warning. Chose Kyoshika as it seemed the story was leaning that way being 'true ending' path with all the Explorations prior. I also had just maxed Deadlights & some of Takemaru's attacks and did not want to throw that investment away.

Hopepunk being a first term Trump thing is dead on. The other side of it was the peak of 'problematic media' as a general concept. A backlash to anything with protagonists who weren't kind and noble and rejecting the idea of art having empathy without sympathy.

(Spoilers for 100 Line Route 0) Nozomi does the same thing when everyone but Takumi turns against her. A milder case is deciding it's all her fault that 'Moko' flipped out on her. Interested to find out if the game (in my current route or another) goes more into this.

Learning he wants to do even more routes and is asking fans for ideas. Truly one of the best to do it. Ecstatic for DLC like How The Special Defence Unit Saved Christmas Route.

Been exploring Oshii's other movies, but Ghost in the Shell's still up there. Innocence is a great continuation of those themes from Batou's perspective. What do you do when your best friend leaves & now you're feeling a similar, but not the same, alienation from the world of pure flesh & bone?

Hundred Line spoiler warning. I'd suspected Eito was the traitor but I thought his motive would be "I don't want us to be agents of genocide" rather than "literally every second I spent being Mr My Friends Are My Power was like tongue-kissing The Fly."

Spoiler warning but the choice to make the aliens actual creations of the game really does weaken the story overall. I get the need to explain *how* the aliens are real & how it sort of fits the theme but the story doesn't pull it off well enough.

The distorted melding of contempt and loyalty that comes with such an intimate relationship's breakdown too.
