I had to move to a second device to be able to keep up. Civilians are building barricades to stop ICE from leaving with detainees. They are in a stand off. ICE continues to fire into the crowds. Civilians throw gas bombs back at ICE.

I always felt it was mostly the result of political rhetoric, fear mongering about crime. Whatever the factors it was a cultural change in our attitude. Crimes against children (violent crimes across the board) are down significantly since those days. It's a safer world, but we're more afraid of it.

That literally is how things work. Europe has 10x the economic strength and industrial base that Russia has, 3x the military strength and 5x Russia's military spending. Russia is also under crippling sanctions and suffering 10% inflation. Russia is a weak and broken nation.
