This is so embarrassing. It's embarrassing how dumb these people are that they think that they haven't been completely manipulated and duped by Russia.

Same. I mean, I recently got called both a bot, a troll, and an incel (I'm female, btw), but I see it as par for the course. I don't meet 100% polite humans in real life either.

Honestly, are they running the articles by the white house first and waiting for the edits?

Yep. Needed to do something with hands because he was embarrassed.

So...you ignored all the other petty things he's done (literally in the thousands at this point) over the years but this was the last straw?

The explanation I was given for that was that these people have to keep their seats because they're in Red States and it wouldn't have gotten rid of trump anyway, as if that is the point. But then I was pretty much told to stfu And then weirdly called an incel π€·π»ββοΈ

I didn't really know they existed until just last night. They seem awfully similar, don't they? They've forgotten that diversity of opinion is the heart of democracy and that unquestioning loyalty is well often fascism

100%. I made the mistake of criticizing Jeffries and got called a bot, a troll and was told to gtfo, pretty much within 10 minutes. Also was told I was not a democrate and that I should stfu or get out. Wow...was NOT expecting that reaction.

Someone called me a troll (for my first time) because I expressed a contrary opinion. My attempt to make clear I'm a real person engendered further insults. Bots don't want discussion...they want to insult or taunt. So who are the bots on this thread?

Just as expected.

If you think thatβs not true, I'm curious: do you believe that dissent and criticism of leadership have any place in a democracy? Or do you always see it as "whining"?
comment in response to
post
So..not engaging with my point at all. Just insults and telling me to shut up. Iβm talking about how unquestioning loyalty undermines democracy itself. You dismiss that point by calling it whining. You don't actually address the substance of what Iβm saying.

Last time I checked, I wasn't the one calling people trolls and telling them to gtfo/insulting them. THAT seems like an incel thing to do. Unquestioning loyalty is not democracy. "Difference of opinion leads to inquiry, and inquiry to truth." --Thomas Jefferson (but not if differences are shut down)

I got called a troll for expressing my viewpoints. I gave others an opportunity to express theirs until that occurred.

You have a right to that opinion. I'm just saying I can't confront someone if they don't tell me they voted for him and say nothing that indicates it.

Um ok. Believe what you like. I live in Massachusetts. It's not that hard to believe where I'm from.

A healthy democracy has diverse voices and opinions. (see #3 on Timothy Snyder's ist from his book "On Tyranny.")You seem to be uninterested in a healthy democracy. It is my primary goal. To that end, I think I'm done with this conversation tonight--off to places where other viewpoints are welcome.

You asked me for an example of something they could have done and didn't that "would have stopped Trump." I didn't give you an example bc you restricted me with that limitation. When I explained that was not what I wanted (unrealistic) and gave an example of what I would like to see, you railed πββοΈ
