The usual reason for the debate is that someone further up asked for a timeline. Rather than spending valuable time debating the unknowable, we can just make something up: it is equally accurate. Use the estimation time to build & derisk the project. Then just take a wild guess and triple it.

There is no reason to define the scope of the MVP before you start coding. Slice the project into functional slices and dark-launch each one. After each slice, ask “why is this not ready to launch?” If there is an answer, work on that slice next. If there is no reason, you have your MVP.

This is the true spirit of Pride Month: standing up for each other against the use of force.
