These obstructive screens are an unforgivable innovation. Check out #Brighton where the council (of whatever party) seems powerless to get rid of them despite universal popular support for removal. In any case, the last thing we need is more screens.

SUVs are uneccessary in urban areas A majority of UK car owners (59%) also agree that SUVs are not necessary in towns and cities, compared to just 20% that disagree. This is despite research showing that three quarters of SUVs sold in UK are registered to people living in towns and cities ๐Ÿ™ƒ ๐Ÿงต6/8

Doubly ridiculous! How come we ended up allowing all these customised/ deliberately unclear reg plates? It would seem simple & obvious to have a single standard for font, colour etc. and licensed producers.

I think intermittent & unclear kerbs are a menace, but I'm watching what's being built there. Quite a deep trench by the park yesterday. More detailed plans than at the link were published. Can't remember the intended width. www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/onejourneybe...

Madeira Drive along the seafront (NCN2) is also green (though now a bit messy with car tyre tracks etc.) It might be a new standard. Previously we had red or black.

I've summarised your points, added a couple of my own and submitted under Q3. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes, we need a vehicle login so that a car only starts if the credentials are valid.

Exactly. No need to stop at 80!

The County Councils can even postpone elections to do this! Convenient for those heading for defeat!

Will Brighton & Hove benefit? or will we be submerged in two roads-focused councils (both conservative) with a very poor record on active travel? East Sussex was a drag on Brighton before we achieved Unitary status in the 90's.

Can anyone get the free bus i.e. if they don't have a car?

Very well deserved! And congratulations to all the 2024 women.

Opposite our back gate for weeks. Our road in #Brighton is a popular place to leave large items of private property for free, despite it being a 2-way bus route! Hence, also a lot of pavement driving!

I/We need to scrutinise the action plan in the consultation document (I've seen a draft) and check their baseline because reducing KSI's by 30% by the year 2035 when the stats for 2023 have just shown a steep increase is not a stretching target. @actionvz.bsky.social

I was so totally appalled by this case I was pretty much dumbstruck. I am infuriated that we don't have technology in the car to automatically stop people speeding, using a phone at the same time as driving etc. Eye movements going to a device could be easily detected. @actionvz.bsky.social

Yes. There have been a series of crashes and near misses. Now drivers need to note the change in priority marked on the road. Road Safety Officer of @brighton-hove.gov.uk aware. Yet more signage might be needed!

Took me a while to see what happened! So that's a pot of paint she stood on, I think.
