And that isn’t the parade’s true purpose. The whole thing is just a spectacle to boost Trump’s fragile ego. But Republicans aren’t even going, even Speaker Mike Johnson said he won’t attend. www.politico.com/news/2025/06... It’s embarrassing, and none of this should be happening. 6/6

I've heard from people in uniform that they don’t like flaunting our force this way and think it’s political. They’re right. I’m the proud son of an Army veteran, I have great respect for the Army and those who served. This is not the way to honor its 250th birthday. 5/

This isn’t happening in a vacuum. We’ve seen Trump defy court orders, escalate tensions, and deploy the military into communities over the objections of state and local leaders. We saw what happened to Senator Padilla yesterday. 4/ bsky.app/profile/frit...

Donald Trump has not been shy about expressing admiration for dictators, and recently threatened to respond with ‘heavy force’ against anyone who dares to exercise their constitutional right to protest -- regardless of whether or not they are peaceful. 3/ bsky.app/profile/theb...

Like Trump's deployment of the military in L.A., it’s a crazy waste of taxpayer money: as much as $45 million for the parade and $16 million in damage repair. This as they close Social Security offices, fire public safety officials, and cut essential services “to save money.” 2/

Another disgraceful episode in a long train of abuses from a thuggish administration that has repeatedly incited and encouraged violence. What happened to @padilla.senate.gov today is horrifying, and we stand with him. This incident must be investigated, and everyone involved held accountable.

Kristi Noem went to Los Angeles to help this Administration inflame and escalate a problem they are causing. Now she has the audacity to condone violence against a United States Senator for daring to ask her a question in his state. This is beyond the pale.

This policy will separate families, including many I represent. And with Trump’s assault on asylum and refugees, it will intentionally put people at deadly risk. The true rationale isn’t security, it’s racism. Our NO BAN Act, led by @chu.house.gov, would stop it.

My bill, the Congressional Trade Authority Act, would prevent Trump from abusing this provision, return trade authority to Congress, where it belongs, and stop Trump’s trade war from doing further harm to the United States and the world. Congress should pass it. 7/7
