We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone out there who stands up to oppression—whether by taking the streets, playing a support role, acting individually under cover of night, or in other ways.
All the freedom we have, we owe to those who have acted to resist tyranny. We can do this.

No matter what a peaceful protestor may intend, it’s police who are deciding when to use violence and whom to use it against—and nothing we saw this weekend indicates their violence was confined to those who were not “peaceful.”

This is like telling the queer community to stop flying rainbow flags when they're being targeted. Oh, wait...

"In a photo posted to X, Fitzpatrick can be seen standing next to Dave Reilly, antisemitic conspiracy theorist Ian Carroll, antisemitic activist Casey Whalen, and David Pettinger — who’s best known for wearing brownface and dressing as Hitler."

The guy that printed this shirt for David "Meridian Tesla Hitler" Pettinger went on a white supremacist podcast.

Thank you! This is a really great expansion in that analogy!

When people you are in solidarity with enter struggle, you send with them more than critique. You send love, support, and resources. You may have valid criticism drawn from years of experience, use it for more than idle criticism and credential waving online.

Admitting cowardice and self-interest don't sell as well as pointed criticism, so they critique.
While people disappear, they critique. While people fight against disappearance, they critique. This is not an action of compassion or care.

Many people offer criticism instead of solidarity. This is an excuse for doing nothing. Rationalization for inaction.
"I support liberation but these flags are wrong."
"ICE is bad but resisting them is, too!"
Nonsense. Family members are disappearing and it's not their family so they do nothing.

Now, Fitzpatrick appears to relish any and all attention his shitty establishment gets. But if people like Dave Reilly and Ian Carroll are hanging out there, it becomes a problem for the people who live there, and that's all I wanted to highlight.
