$40 million for this

This is unacceptable. We can do better.

ok maybe the American flag scolds had a point, this photo goes hard

Couple things I learned today: - Seniors are extremely fired up about this - "Fuck ICE" is a normie position now - People are MASSIVELY pissed off about Sen. Padilla being wrestled to the ground in LA - We all we got, we all we need

It's kinda crazy to remember that the mass protests today got their start (and name) from a tweet about congestion pricing

Tuckwila showing the fuck up. I sometimes give a hard time to other cities in washington, but that's a like, sibling style shit talking. I love the people of this state. Even if our government (State and National) sucks ass.

🇩🇪❤️

What a gift it was to have the first ever virtual design review meeting be a 300 unit housing project delayed 7 years over brick colors by out of control board members. It really showed the public and policy makers just how insane the program is. And has led to these reforms.

They gonna try and move it indoors?

I’m convinced it’s necessary to fully eliminate cars in front of schools, like this example at Primary School No. 50 in Gdansk. When it comes to our kids, half-measures are insufficient.

The fact that mandating ground-level retail—which creates a glut of that product, thereby reducing its rental value—results in empty storefronts rather than storefronts full of lower-paying tenants is pretty interesting and appears to be common. www.axios.com/local/denver...

One thing I like about the abundance mindset is that if you want to 10x per capita energy usage (you should, the last 10x-ing made humans a LOT better off), there’s literally no possible way to do it with anything other than solar.

Katie Wilson, the labor organizer and Transit Riders Union leader, won the sole endorsement of the 37th District Democrats in the Seattle mayor’s race yesterday. It’s a blow to incumbent Bruce Harrell, who lives in the 37th and represented the area on city council.

The GOP's "Big Beautiful Bill" takes money from people who can't afford food and health care and gives it to those who can afford first class travel and second homes. And this analysis excludes impacts on energy costs, which will also go up and are highly regressive. See repeatproject.org/reports 🔌💡

Planning departments aren't neutral experts—they're institutions traumatized by decades of NIMBY meetings, encoding unreasonable opposition into 'professional wisdom.' When we're forced to learn planning jargon we are playing a rigged game. 👇 open.substack.com/pub/venat/p/...

When Los Angeles actually *was* burning down six months ago, these people didn't give a damn about us. Now they're spreading fake AI videos showing LA burning

You were not meant to learn whatever the fuck setbacks or floorplates are You are ONLY supposed to show up & say “make housing bigger & more abundant”, “make transit faster & more frequent”, & if they give you plannerspeak excuses your job is not to nod & understand because that’s how they get you

Good news out of Seattle, where the Link light rail registered its highest-ever ridership in May as the 2-line got extended to Downtown Redmond. Ridership is up more than 20% compared to last May!

At some point, someone said we should "ban cars" from this area and it eventually resulted in this. Ban cars and let's see what can thrive.

These flower boxes on the 2nd Ave protected bike lane are in full bloom!

Remembering the George Floyd protests. @bruceforseattle.bsky.social and @governorferguson.bsky.social talk a big game about protecting us. Wonder if we'll see... anything at all from them.
