Granted the errors of 1865 & 1877 allowed America's schism to persist into our era, but the Original Sin is far older
European settlers endslaved indigenous people in 16h century, establishing the idea that nonwhites were inferior, were beasts of burden, chattel

The senator's conduct was admirable in view of the degree of intimidation, & its physicality. He was nonviolent, & did not resist their violence

Since communism, like Nirvana, is a state of perfection, it is an aspiration not fully attainable in Earth.
