It's probably a male trying to attract a lady. They normally find a hollow tree to do this. This is the avian equivalent of crushing a beer can on his head.

I used to dislike it but found massaging kale tenderizes it, releases some sulfides? and turns it into an interesting and acceptable salad green. Curried kale and chick peas is a very tasty vegan dish.

So they can deport them properly.

A quick review: The stove top is awesome. Much faster than gas. The touch controls could be better. The conventional convection oven is good for baking and roasting. It has settings for everything from sous vide to air fry to steam etc. but doesn't excel at the fancy stuff.

Not sure if you mean the induction stove or the CO2 monitor. Vitalife BCM01 CO2 monitor. 30" Frigidaire Gallery Induction Range - GCFI306CBF.
comment in response to post
We bought a CO2 monitor during the early days of the current pandemic. If we even thought about turning the stove on the alarm would go off. After a brief struggle with a sunk cost fallacy we replaced our newish gas range with induction. No regrets.

Last year I was portaging my canoe in a provincial park when a large off leash dog charged me. I yelled at the owner to call it off. He didn't. I swung my canoe and knocked it off its feet and into the bushes before it retreated. The owner it was said friendly. We had words about leashes.

Unless it is a vertical interference pattern in green, no.

I have wondered that instead of mandating voting, issuing a tax credit for voting. Carrot instead of stick.

My neighbour said Trudeau would win the Ontario election in Feb. because he had bribed Trump to impose tariffs.

I can't help too much. We have had a small TT for 20+ years and only visited The Island a couple of times. We are not fans of commercial campgrounds which is really the only option you have there. There are no Provincial or National Park campgrounds and no crown land.

My point ẁas that most knives seized were legal pocket tools. The headline implied otherwise. I would be happy to surrender mine as I would be required to boarding a flight.
comment in response to post
The males also seem to have considerably less patience with their fully grown young begging for food.
comment in response to post
The hot ones seem to be more tolerant of cool overnights. The bells not so much.
comment in response to post
They do say most were legal. Probably just pocket knives. I always carry one. It's standard grampa issue.

My first experience with it. A friend gave me a bunch of seedlings. It's a tropical green, spinach type plant. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callalo...)

I planted each rooted slip in their own 4"/ 10cm paper pot of generic potting soil. They seem happy enough.

I grew them very successfully in Zone 5 with slips I bought from PEI. This is my first try in zone 7. I am using slips from a grocery store tuber I sprouted.

I am holding off on planting beans, sweet potatoes, calaloo, and peppers until we have consistent double digit overnights. Zone 7.

Here's the chart extended to April 2025, carbon price change on left, trailing year/year inflation on right, zeroes of both axes aligned (to preserve comparison to the previous chart). Inflation slowed when the carbon price was introduced, peaked when increases were smaller. /3

They are very social birds. The males are much less tolerant of their fully grown offspring begging for food than the females. Sounds like us. And singing for sex is better than begging? Who knew?
comment in response to post
They nested on our heavily treed country property and became quite comfortable with us. I was able to condition them to come for dinner when I shook a large plastic scoop of sunflower seeds. Beautiful songs. Like a robin who has had voice training.

I wish they wouldn't waste money on these 'gifts'. I mostly get them from charities I don't currently subscribe to and the apparent waste dissuades me from supporting them. On the other hand there must be data indicating free gifts bring in more than they cost.

The situation reminds me of the "When they go low, we go high." statement by Michelle Obama and how that has worked out.

I wonder if the 'entity' will be up to more mischief tomorrow. Robo calls misdirecting voters? Threats to polling stations? Voter intimidation? Fake news?

I picked up a largish bag of lemons from Spain and I am currently, for the first time, attempting to preserve them. They should be ready to try in a couple of weeks. www.themediterraneandish.com/preserved-le...
