August 2025: protests break out after ICE conducts an immigration raid at the Bad Dragon factory in Phoenix, AZ. A Trump administration spokesperson wonders why all protestors appear to be armed with cudgels or clubs ranging from 1' to 2' long, alleging a vast conspiracy.

People over-use comparisons with young children to measure animal intelligence, but everything I know about cockatoos and 2-3 year old humans tells me that they are about as close in intelligence, personality and temperament as it's possible for two animals from such different species to be.

As funny as this is, every time I re-read Mishima's biography I just come away sad. To be a 16 year old Japanese boy in 1941 is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, tbh.
