It’s been rough. One thing to lose the feel/shape of the splitter for a bit but the fastball has been on a tee so often

why do so many people feel the need to comment on me being chubby in otherwise fun posts haha

Gausman's splitter movement before last night was most extreme left-to-right in league. Was a straighter depth pitch at peak. I find splitters fascinating to discuss because they're so finicky & can be good a few different ways (Hoffman FB type, Gausman carry type, etc).

Bassitt echoed the desire for vertical movement (depth/carry) over the arm-side run. Arm-side run more for the Hoffman/Yariel types who throw it as a fastball, vs Gausman/Francis who throw it as an offspeed. Gausman, Bassitt, Yariel, Hoffman all top-5 in arm-side movement.

Did this come up in the monopolistic tech episode?

Yeah it’s flawed just felt like mentioning it, since 100 would probably be the cutoff. Fun to think about the trade offs etc

not exactly your point but one of the proposed remedies for current offense + pitching injuries is a start pitch minimum

More parallels too with the tanking to build the core, cult of personality Gm, which pieces they did/didn’t choose at pivot points, never past 2nd round, etc
