idk, i think it's more despicable precisely because she's trans. a cowardly betrayal. for others you could say they are ignorant, but not with mcbride, it's 100% intentional, she knows what she's doing.

the depths they have gone to in order to ratfuck trans kids and cover for the Trump administration indicates that this is all intentional strategy.

it's all bad faith. imagine saying with a straight face that democrats lost because of trans rights, when they did everything they could to run in the opposite direction, including trying to paint Trump as the one who was too pro-trans.
centrists will never take responsibility for their failings

kind of a perfect summarization of the NYT on trans rights

Klein even mentions that people are tired of poll tested politicians but I guess until that statement is poll tested it will fly over her head

If they are not in his pocket but still doing his work then whether or not they like him is a meaningless distinction to me.

how could we come up with any conclusion other than that NYT leadership is right wing, with its relentless printing of lies against trans people, glowing coverage of fascists, and softball treatment of conservatives vs hardball coverage of the left?

yeah but on the other hand I haven’t voted to confirm any trump appointees

The contempt that Dems have for their base is really something else. At some point you have to wonder why some of these guys don't just go off and play Republican, since that is the base they really want.

i mean it's pretty clear that they aren't interested in journalism, when the same NYT writers and editors that work on these hit pieces show up to bluesky specifically to antagonize trans people.

an NYT editor just showed up here yesterday with the specific purpose of antagonizing trans people. the NYT is just unredeemable and anyone who works there is suspect

I’ve worked with the CIA for more than 10 years. Their work in Latin America was exceptionally thoughtful, fair, searching and empathetic. These are bad-faith personal attacks.

she's not going to, because she is complicit in creating the moral panic around trans people.

ahh, I didn't really understand the neutrality thing, that makes sense now. Lost respect for Hogg after going on Maher, but he does have a point with useless dems in safe seats not fighting hard enough (or dying lmao), and I wish Kenyatta spoke more to that
comment in response to
post
He also mentions neutrality as a bad thing, warning that the right wing may want to push the democratic party rightward. isn't that what centrist dems have been doing successfully my entire life? bludgeoning progressives?
comment in response to
post
Good interview. But I can't help but feel it was mostly platitudes from Kenyatta. He says people shouldn't be upset at Dems but what are they offering to be excited about? He's wishy washy with Hogg's plan to primary dems, when Dems are coming to votes short handed due to literally dying in office.
comment in response to

the idea is that the democrats should not always be at a disadvantage.
I don’t know why this is so hard for people to comprehend.
comment in response to
post
this will not be the only vote that occurs, there will be more.
those 3 votes (for now) are critical for future bills.
having democrats always be at a disadvantage is not sound strategy
comment in response to
post
the point is that democrats are losing valuable critical votes because they keep propping up politicians that should have retired decades ago.
