A sign that you're giving in to your bias is if someone you respect/think is smart says something you disagree with and you reject it without a moment's thought, and suddenly start seeing them as a stupid rube and/or total asshole who you don't share any values with based on nothing else.

Why have light switches that control single lights when you could have arcane symbols on flat glass that turn someone's idea of useful sets of lights partially on and off after a several second delay. If you were wondering which one turns on the reading light, it's not the chair.
