.‪ @ryanlizza.bsky.social thinks this is bad, but he spent 15 minutes saying he thinks it'll be worse by the time the left has the chance to respond politically. He did so on @sykescharlie.bsky.social's podcast yesterday. @ryan-lizza.bsky.social

True, indeed. And I've tried this, just on the path to discussing value (really *any*) with regard to scarcity and acquisition (time, love, life, meaning, etc). It falls apart when you ask students how much workers make and what they expect to earn (they significantly over-estimate).

Indeed. 3 down and now a new one to go.

Pundits learn to 'play nice' with authority (corporate bosses) so as to maintain access. Their jobs are literally about not pushing the boundaries beyond what is expected or what entertains.

"This was not illegal (nothing was illegal, since there were no longer any laws), but if detected it was reasonably certain that it would be punished by death, or at least by twenty-five years in a forced-labour camp." -- Orwell, 1984

You are not -- and I cannot stress this enough -- winning the next election with these voters. We lost because of how many stayed home.

It would seem Biden took the job seriously to his own detriment with a restless press.

Y'all. I still remember that Pelley pimped the Bill Barr 'summary' of the Mueller Report and then never retracted that reporting when it was found to be incomplete at a minimum and incompetent in favor of mendacity in reality.

my comment was intentionally anti-scientific for the purposes of 'humor' -- it assumed that the universe is messing with us.

I suspect the universe -- at large -- is like a toddler caught in a fib . . . just adding complications as the need be, and that need is inquiry and observation.
