Thanks for the many kind words. Now it’s time to convince my wife to name the baby after Circa Survive’s first album.

Three winners. The Bunker is maybe my favorite in the series since it’s a bit more unpredictable.

Just realized I goofed on the title just a bit because I confused it with that of a song by my favorite band but yeah you figured it out anyway, haha. youtu.be/-ud6v9ZnCj8?...

There you have it. For about the price of one new AAA game, you can stack a dozen great horror games and never sleep again.
Anything I missed that you recommend? Let me know before I clear my cart tonight.

One more. For $75:
The Mortuary Assistant - One part mortician sim, one part ghost story with many secrets to uncover, this one will have you second-guessing yourself often. $16.24

Still going? For $60:
SOMA - The Amnesia devs' best game. A story you must play for yourself. $6
Crowded. Followed. - Have you seen It Follows? This is that as a video game. Enough said. $4.79
Dead Letter Dept. - A typing game where you salvage lost letters... then they start addressing you. $12

For about $40, add:
The Excavation of Hob's Barrow - This folk horror story is my favorite game of the year among games that released earlier than 2025. $8.24
REPO - And this is probably my GOTY frontrunner. The ultimate co-op horror spectacle. Hilarious and unpredictable. $8

For $20, add:
Zort - A co-op game somewhat made in the Lethal Company mold, blending co-op laughs with scares. $3
The Headliners - Another LC-like, but this one is basically a Cloverfield in disguise. Take dangerous pics of monsters, then laugh about it back at your base if you survive. $6

Climbing to about $10, add:
Nuclear Nightmare - A multiplayer take on The Thing. Survive with friends while a shapeshifting monster causes unrest and paranoia. $1.74
The Forest - Your plane crashes, leaving you to survive in the woods inhabited by cannibals. Sort of like rated-R Minecraft. $4

For about $5, I'd recommend you pair these two:
Sylvio - A janky but incredibly haunting single-player ghosthunting game. The audio design will keep you up at night. $3.24
Outlast 2 - A game so intensely scary that I struggled to hit the review embargo back in the day. $2

Birth of an Economic Hitman? I don’t know if it was ever debunked, to be honest. I read it years ago.

Yeah, to be fair, I haven’t seen TLA or TDL since they debuted so maybe I’d feel differently there if I went back and I’d say TRT came closest to making me invested in more than the aesthetics.

On it. And I guess I’m also curious: is my takeaway from his stuff common or am I the odd one out here?

There’s a song called “December 4, 2024.” It’s, in part, a nod to their song titled January 10, 2014. I had to look up the significance of the date and yup, that’s TWIABP.
