Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more

I get such a sick joy out of being the first person to add their pronouns when doing group introductions

Editor creates an AI executive who is "an expert at building and scaling digital media companies." Decides within minutes that the AI is "one of the most knowledgeable and energetic colleagues" he's ever had. Asks the AI to create a headshot of itself. It does. He sexually harasses it immediately.

disability issues are human issues because literally every single human being is only temporarily able-bodied

In Aotearoa trans people have a 50% income gap compared to the national average. Material support makes a *huge* difference.

Thousands of us today in the streets.

1) is it that incendiary? 2) Aren't some "ostensibly-straight" women also aroused by the thought of themselves as women?

I'm that bitch

always interesting to learn about people's experiences with gender-affirming surgery (beyond the "5 days post op and healing up great!" photos everyone posts), but this one's really worth listening all the way to the end. got some words I really needed to hear today.

Important that people recognise this was published nearly a year ago. You're only just noticing it now because the media completely buried it because it's not convenient to their narrative. Tell people about it.

When you've definitely met more than one trans woman

I wonder how many people have ever experienced their brain physically running out of energy making it so they cannot use their mind and have to lie still, unthinking, unfeeling - merely existing in a body.  This I believe is a torture no one but #MECFS patients understand.

A decade ago, I went on book tour with Sybil Lamb. We did 32 cities across the US/Canada, read with dozens of writers and met hundreds of people. So many of them are now dead. All of them are transsexuals. The oldest didn't make it to 50. I say this because I want you to live and I'm going to too.

Over a year ago I began research on why many trans women love fashion and (more important) why the industry only sometimes loves us back. On the way I uncovered lost images, unknown models, and got sent way back to the French Revolution. Hope you enjoy trickymothernature.com/postrevmodes...

extremely cold uncontroversial take here but trans women are SO fucking hot

album of the year tbh. striptease is rewiring me as we speak

Bookmarking this for the next time someone tells me trans activism in the US is too confrontational

I started HRT at 26 (in 1980) and transitioned socially at 29 (while keeping my teaching job with the Baltimore Public Schools). If I could do it in the Reagan Era, and if you are trans, you can transition, too.

all timer

one of my favorite "SOCIETY" things is this 2018 cover of the news magazine The Atlantic, written by mealy-mouthed bigot Jesse Singal, where a moral panic about us transgender people is front and center, and in TINY little print in the top right, "We're Not Prepared for the Next Pandemic"

I am going to do some threads here on advice for lifting in the future—and maybe some tiktok content too—but I think it's important to first say WHY you should lift. There's a few reasons I think EVERYONE should lift, and a few specific extras on why trans women in particular can benefit from it.
