Jasmine heads the spear of tough smart black ladies that will move our country forward. (Among others!)
She will definitely have my support.

A MATTER OF BALANCE
If you have arguably the most powerful military in world history, the least you can do is install the most pathetic incompetent defense secretary possible.
After all, someone has to properly dishonor gays.
Does he make bad coffee in the morning too?

Appreciate your “likes”.
I’m new to bluesky, but find it a nice environment.
I’m trying (not always with success) to minimize name calling, and stressing current issues where I think the facts are plain.
Political landscape here doesn’t seem extreme.
Anyway, appreciate kindred souls!

A CLINIC ON EXECUTIVE LIES AND CORRUPTION
With each passing day, more crimes emerge:
Claiming we are “at war” so he can enact tariffs
Claiming we are being “invaded”, so he can deport people
Depicting free speech on social sites as subversive
Is this corruption entertaining?

There is no nuance here:
Any actions that threaten immigrants, or starve children for tax breaks for the rich are wrong. Anyone can see that, whether they admit it or not.

NOTE on things dubious:
A T-Rump (and Reagan) appointed judge has confirmed that his claim of tariff setting authority is flat out illegal.
Look at the facts folks.

ANOTHER TAKE
It can be and is, both small and ugly.

ONE SIMPLE FACT: DEPORTATION IS WRONG
From there we can see what needs fixing:
Mostly everything the GOTUS (grifter of the US) is doing.
Immigrants aren’t bad: They are us. We must protect all our residents seeking citizenship.
Katie is always right, and has the facts. Listen and act.

GOTUS. (Grifter of the US)
Arab planes, cryptocurrency bribes, crony pardons,
Real estate deals, phony charity, property fraud, phony business school, etc.
The list is too long to fit in a bluesky post!

Can I use your great phrase?
It’s perfect.

PARDON ANYONE?
Should we be questioning the unlimited and circumspect pardoning by T-Rump?
Historical use of presidential pardons was rare, and usually at the end of the term, so actions could be included, regardless of any political inference.
Now it’s purely political. Tune-up needed?

Does anyone like immigrants? I love them.
Don’t deport: I speak on their behalf.
1950’s, in a MN town of many races, we clicked.
USA, yet immigrants today-a miniature earth. Melting pot or salad bowl, power comes from teamed human diversity. We became a globally great country.
Why stop now?

Our country, whether you call it a melting pot or salad bowl, is a masterpiece of human resourcefulness and assemblage. Our immigration mentality of coming together, has given us arguably the strongest country in the world.
Why stop now?

There were all sorts of local cultures and many ethnicities. To me, it was like a continuous party, being educated in peoples ways, and ways of thinking.

When I left my hometown, and moved east to the Maryland/DC area to work at NSA, I met folks from all over the country. Massachusetts, New York, Delaware, Utah, Wisconsin, Mississippi, Idaho, virtually everywhere.

We are nearly all immigrants, whether from Europe, Africa, Middle East, or wherever. In our town, the one notable minority was native Americans, on reservations. The true Americans.

It was a bit like New York City. No, no skyscrapers or broadway, but we had a lot of little ethnic neighborhoods. Italians, Slavs, Scandinavians, Irish, English, Jews, and more. We had Finnish jokes, Polish jokes, on and on, but it was all in fun.

Thank you for your apt description of this budget bill and vote.
The performance of this administration and MAGA congress requires ongoing documentation and accurate evaluation,
as an effective guide for the voters.
Please keep it up!

All that glitters……..
Nice to know that the federal jobs and expertise that were sacrificed weren’t in vain.
Now T-Rump can afford to refit his Qatar jet with gold toilets.
What country is this again?

To Chris: I am just finding my way on Bluesky, so just a quick note. I enjoy all of your analysis, even when you might go on a bit! You are highly perceptive on all things politic, so go ahead and rant.
But, how about cutting slack to a guy who’s old and sick, and just answered his party?

What kind of America have we become?
Joe Biden had a great presidency: the worlds best economy, the best market in 20 years, and a host of benefits for workers.
Now Jake Tapper peddles a book with the shocking news that Joe was old and not well?
Can’t we just thank Joe, show class, and be quiet?

In the same way he has arrogated to himself the ability to impose tariffs under very dubious legal pretexts, he can, of course, list them. But unlike, say, USCMA or NAFTA there's no "deal" in any actual legal sense.
