He's right. It's men that can't stand a strong, successful black woman who told their hero VKM to stick it. She's booked strong for a reason: she and Toni Storm are both bringing the women's division up with them.

In the case of the house shows, they're in the far southern tip of Texas, hundreds of miles away. Most they can do is clutter up the media landscape.

WWE is desperate to try to flood the Texas market. These shows, though, are hundreds of miles away from Dallas.

They DO realize these are often corporate sales, right? US sports teams all do superboxes like this where corporations entertain clients.
Jesus.

(2/2) only concrete example of where WWE has has a material effect.
Meanwhile, AEW beat NXT overall in the majority of the Wednesday Night Wars.

Because counter-programming was done in the past, notably against Jim Crockett Promotions PPVs, then WCW, until the PPV industry made them stop.
Then, WWE simply ran shows against WCW until WCW went under.
AEW moved Collisions when possible to avoid WWE and NXT PLEs. That seems to be the (1/2)

Now, maybe now they'd bring her back, but the acting is in the way. But the tweets got her taken off for at least a while.

What's ridiculous is that these shows will have zero effect, as they're hundreds of miles away from Dallas. All it's designed to do is confuse fans and clutter up the market.

No. It means it's viewed as an account that's very pro-AEW in this case and likely got reported by trolls. That's all "parody account" means.
We know AEW is a top five sports property on MAX, WBD has verified that.

It's imposed on people by the bird app. It may or may not have anything to do with their credibility.

Importantly, June 18 is Grand Slam Mexico from Arena Mexico.

Dislike the show? Running against game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, they did well, finishing #3. Hell, Collision finished #10 running past 12 midnight.

It was their ring. Only reason the one in Australia was smaller was the logistics of shipping.

That whole skit made me smile, and Harley Cameron helped bring it off just right. Was happily stunned at the crowd's response. I've been a wrestling fan long enough to have seen homophobia by fans and promotions for decades. It's a nice change.

Actually, if memory serves me, when Ospreay first did it, and people complained, Styles said he was flattered.

"Mercedes Hogan"? Baloney. She probably got them the biggest crowd they've done in months.

@bryanalvarez.bsky.social the two 4 hour shows are because TNT is airing the Stanley Cup Finals.

They're clearly trying to screw with ALL IN ticket sales, even if it's 400 miles away from Dallas.

Don't agree. I actually agree with Alvarez for once.
Let the Continental Classic winner be on a trophy instead. Same for the Owen Hart Classic.
Let the women get a tag belt.

So, if you're in the US, check out AEW Archives on MAX.

All some of us are saying is to make sure to air a package weekly between now and ALL IN. This is a co-main event level match for ALL IN that too many never got to see because AXS TV wasn't on in a lot of homes. It'll sell tickets and PPV buys. Just want AEW to get all they can out of it.

If you've got MAX, go check out the AEW archives.

Looks as though TK is having the last laugh. The ratings for that Fyter Fest were shockingly good, going against Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Hell, Collision finished what would be #10 for the night going from 10 pm to past midnight.

I DON'T agree "all fans knew that the match was coming for months." That's an Alvarez bit.
I'm just saying there's this tremendous, history-making rivalry and AEW needs to hit its fans over the head with it to make it important on the level of Page-Mox and Storm-Mercedes and sell tickets with it.
comment in response to

Time to dig into the AEW archives on MAX.
comment in response to

I mean, not just one one feature. Literally do it weekly, not just one on the rivalry.
comment in response to

They need to be prepared to do a segment each week. If they're going to use Omega-Okada as a major selling point for last month ticket sales...beat it into their heads like TNT did the Knicks-Pacers series. Each week, do a video feature on one of the matches.
comment in response to
post
Because the original schedule had a game on Saturday. But one of the conference championship ended early.
comment in response to
post
Definitely. That's next Wednesday. But it's impossible to schedule around everything. No more playoff games running head-to-head in neither league. They'll just get competition from the College World Series on June 18 (Wednesday) and June 21 (Saturday). But neither of those are NFL or NBA level.
comment in response to

So THEY made this available. Hope Asahi TV's OK with it. They've acted like assholes about the sharing of their videos that fans are doing to try to encourage other fans to buy.
comment in response to
post
Actually, more like Asahi TV hits them with copyright strikes.
comment in response to

Each week, each show, a feature from the Omega-Okada series. Make it a big deal, something you can't miss.
comment in response to
post
You do that by telling them what makes you special and not leaving it to them to find out.
comment in response to
post
See...I'm of the opposite opinion. They SHOULD want to find out. They ARE able to easily access the matched.
But here's rule one of business: you need to make it as possible for customers to give you their money.
Rule two: Tell customers why to buy your product and not your competitor (1/2)

Yes. They do have short memory and attention spans.

Flair and Hogan were the top two names in the wrestling world back then. The match was fantasized about for years.
Omega-Okada is limited to a certain segment of the fanbase, even AEW's.
Doesn't need to be a full match. But wouldn't hurt if each show had a video feature on the Omega-Okada series.
