I see the royals have been at the dressing-up box again.

Whether or not you approve of the recipients, the whole 'honours' system exists to promote and preserve divisive British class system.

Whether presenting their policies as protecting British values or being in the interests of public safety or fighting constraints on free speech, they all seem to boil down to the same thing.

It was only in February that Vance strongly expressed US concern and accused UK and other European countries of restricting Free speech, retreating from fundamental values and putting basic liberties under threat.

Whatever vehicle he's using, Farage is always a one-man party making unsubstantiated populist claims while criticising whoever is in power. Therefore, viewing Reform as a vote for change is voting without really knowing what you're voting for. Much like Brexit. More scrutiny can only be a positive.

If the 25% tariff is resulting in these industries are "coming back like never before" and raising the tariff to 50% is "great news", then why not raise it to 100% or 500% ?

Despite the Police identifying the suspect as white British, there are many posts on social media claiming some sort of cover-up. How have we arrived at a point where fact and truth are so easily ignored by those readily willing to accept conspiracy theories?

This is exactly the sort of thing that should be brought up whenever Farage is being interviewed. Instead he's allowed to move on to the next fabrication without ever being held to account.

As ever, his tactic is to try to manufacture division and hatred before claiming to be the only person who has the solution.

Putin hasn't suddenly changed, this has been going on for over 3 years. The question for me is what is now motivating this change of tack by Trump?

I think that referring to a "plan" is being rather generous.

I'm the President of the United States and I'm going to make a statement about South Africa in front of the President of South Africa and the world's media. Should I or my staff first check whether it's true? Nah, it fits our agenda so let's not bother.

My mistake, hadn't appreciated that. Thanks. I retract the second part of my statement.

They'll need to put a clause in his contract stating that if he screws something up he can't then just run away.

"dynamic projections from OBR (2024) suggested that a migrant worker who moved to the UK at age 25 and earned the UK average earnings (which is similar to migrants’ average earnings) until retirement would contribute £341,000 to public finances if they lived until age 80."

Rather than depriving Reform of coverage, I'd like to see the media apply much more focus and scrutiny on their policies. Lay bare the farcical and fallacious basis of their arguments.

Indeed; as I fear the UK's desired outcome is to regain all of the benefits of EU membership while staunchly remaining outside of the EU.

But those labouring under the delusion that the UK can return to some mythical halcyon period of the early 1950s don't see a need to recognise change.

Probably better to use a verb other than "blast" in headlines concerning Netanyahu. Just to avoid confusion.

The Mail/Telegraph/Sun/Express etc were never going to call it anything other than a 'Brexit betrayal', regardless of the content of the deal. It's not about objective journalism. The aim of such headlines is to appeal to their declining but dogmatic readership.

... and how long before the Brexit architects start claiming that Brexit would have been a huge success but for Starmer's deal?

I suspect by 'ready to work on peace' Putin's means he's ready to accept Ukraine's unconditional surrender.

As this becomes more apparent each day they fear any re-examination may well reveal, with the benefit of hindsight, a rather different public opinion.

I suspect those declaiming these talks as a Brexit Betrayal are those 'leave' supporters most aware of how fragile their position is. Rather than confirming the will of the people, the referendum only resulted in a narrow win following a campaign based largely on misinformation and lies.

They were elected on a platform promising radical change, not one of being more right wing. So instead of trying to 'appeal to voters on the right' why not be a bit braver about enacting some Labour policies ?

If nothing can happen without Trump and Putin, and they both claim to want peace, why does neither of them feel it worth attending the peace talks in Turkey.

If the low-skilled and low-wage migrant rhetoric isn't supported by fact then I suspect it's simply an excuse to stop migrants filling jobs in the care sector etc that the government would rather were filled by Britons currently receiving benefits.

Right wing press constantly stating that immigration is the cause of all ills, fueling public concern over immigration and politicians wanting to appeal to the electorate and attempting to validate anti-immigration policies.
