Packing rule #37: you can replace anything you find you need on most city street intersections (curbside shopping) or for a fraction of the cost on Facebook Marketplace.

Definitely agree NY Times has ruined Wordle. And WordleBot is the worst algorithm on the planet.

If only Lincoln Project members could have seen the consequence of their work to bring America to this outcome since Reagan.

You’d think with Google Search and AI he’d have half a chance of finding the answer. But that would just slow down his (and other “influencers”) constant need to post and get people to read or react. Ignore and move on.

No amount of posting on X or Bluesky or work on The Lincoln Project can make up for the years and years you spent making the GOP what it is today: MAGA Traitors, Grifters, Sycophants and Criminals.

NAEP 2024 testing results: According to the new NAEP data, 38% of Illinois' fourth graders were proficient in math and 30% were in reading, while 32% of the state's eighth graders were proficient in math and 33% were in reading. Sure, but how many will be up to the task of a four year degree?

What are you going to do to protect and advance the poor and working class Democrats ignored for years? Will Democrats do the long, hard slog MAGA has done since Nixon and Reagan?

3 Microfiber cleaning cloths for $10 before tariff? Are they Ralph Lauren or Vera Wang? What happened to using a worn out Tshirt like my Depression Era parents taught me? This is a distraction and a first world embarrassment.

They don’t get it. Propose 20% income tax on those making more than $1 million per year, end Hedge Fund exemption, increase capital gains tax to 25% on stock options and grants which must be exercised within 5 years from vesting, eliminate tax exemption for homes over $4 million and second homes.

Always loved Bohemian Rhapsody but listening to an organist practicing the opening lines on the San Diego Balboa Park pipe organ in the Spreckles Organ Pavilion one sunny afternoon put it over the top. That being said, Fat Bottom Girls runs a close second.

How many encampments is Mayor Lee planning to close each month. Don’t want to close them? Fine, move them to the Mayor’s neighborhood.

Corporate and Union input is important but how many times does such an approach lead to change. CofC will protect and promote businesses, Unions will protect workers and contracts, both doing their job. What about red light runners, speeding, overflowing trash cans, encampments? Left at the curb.

Okay, you’re correct. Now tell that MAGA Base Trump voter that you’re suffering because your favorite jeans cost $50 more. You know, the ones losing food stamps, Medicaid, heating assistance, whose public schools are losing thousands, hospitals are closing. What would they say?
comment in response to post
Understood, so let each absorb a small amount of the cost. It doesn’t cost more to ship the jeans, distribute them or sell them. So increase the sales price by the additional costs of materials. $255 becomes $265.
comment in response to post
Okay, $50 to make. Retail at $250. Retailer clothing markup estimate 300%. Why do shipping within the US, Distributor and others cost more? And does the retailer really need a 300% markup? How about a 280% markup. There is enough room in the supply/retail chain to accommodate $10.
comment in response to post
Point 6: I would never pay $250 for a pair of jeans so if they go up 25% I don’t care. And please explain why a supply chain with a $250 retail priced product that probably costs than less than $25 to make can’t absorb a $10 raw material cost increase? Sorry, not sorry. Not buying it.

We learned about the Fertile Crescent in elementary, Jr and Sr High School in New England in the 1950s and 1960s. What happened? Courses such as Economics, Psychology and Leadership are recent graduation requirements. For me, one can’t learn math without numbers. History without Mesopotamia.

My wife and I have been saying this for the past 30 years. Clinton and Obama did little to address educational and economic inequality she grew up with, instead focusing on gender and race issues. And we see nothing that indicates Democrats understand or have a plan. I’m changing party in protest.

Yikes, I just realized I had a lost in my own head moment: I forgot how I got somewhere, especially when I’m really pissed at something, and don’t realize where I am is a dozen steps from where I began. Thanks for posting and making me think, “Huh?”. (Not that it will change, but it can’t hurt.)

“Part of the problem, I think, is that many educated Democrats are insulated from the pain and frustration in the working class and too often come across as out of touch.” My wife and I have been saying this for years. None of our “educated liberal” friends understand the implications. So it goes.

These guys with a few billion think they’re in the same league as the mega billionaires? That’s rich. How about wanting a government that promises legal and economic stability? If they want something else invite them to move to Russia or India China.
