So glad I’m not the only adult that gets giddy over finding a beloved childhood book!

Their children should also go for free. Some schools do this, some don't. Frankly, if they can accept the children of faculty for free or deeply discounted, when they making $100,000 per year MINIMUM, they can do the same for service workers who are making half that or less.

And I will die on the hill that all custodians, janitors, and other service workers on college and university campuses should get an opportunity to go to school FOR FREE. lol okay I'm done with my TED talk.

So do I. She is an absolute love and a testament to the resilience of dogs.

Unless, of course, it is something I am eating. In which case, she must have it regardless of the temperature or the texture

After a lifetime in a cage eating absolute crap when she ate at all, this little princess will not eat anything cold or room temperature. It must be heated to at least 98 degrees F before she will touch it. It also cannot be too mushy, nor can it be too crunchy.

find out WTF is wrong with me this time. I miss my friends. The world is burning. My country is being run by madmen and idiots, and I miss my friends.

share my cell # (warn them that I screen and respond better to text than calls) And if you're here and would like my cell # and don't have it, hit me up. I'll tell you. I may have cervical cancer, I'm scared, and the health system here is broken and it's taking forever to get appointments to

like what I said about why I was leaving, because no matter what combination of my personal data I used to try to create a new account, they won't let me in. So, for those of you who have access to FB, who are part of my CPAAG or BC&S groups, can you let peeps know I'm looking for them? Feel free to

here to bluesky. Some of these folks had been part of my life for over 10 years (a few as long as 20), and I miss them very much. So I decided to create a new FB account just to reach out to them specifically and give them alternate ways to stay in touch, like my cell #. FB apparently didn't

These idiots have been dying for a chance to use their weapons.

My ex BIL worked under the table for 18 years to avoid having his wages garnished. New "wife" once called my sister because she wanted to marry his ass and couldn't because of this. She asked my sister to waive her children's rights to support. My sister laughed at her and hung up.

WTF? The man did his service. Two terms of fighting against his own government trying to do what was right for this country and it's people, and we repaid him by electing the fucking antichrist. He and his family have no obligation to save us from our own fucking stupidity.

The roundness! This is the very definition of birb.

So many of us are simultaneously cringing at what our neighbors to the north and south of us must think of us, not to mention our European allies, and panicking because we're watching our rights being stripped away and we're unable to do anything but urge the people we did vote for to act.

Recently, a co-worker said something happened "A long time ago, like 35-40 years ago. You know, back in 1990." I was like *pained gasp* "1945 was 35 years ago! Shut your fool mouth child!" and then I did the math. I felt myself turn into a dessicated shell of a formerly vibrant person.

A paste of baking soda and water can be helpful too

It’s tar, so something like wd40, or goo gone is your best bet.

I grew up white in a black neighborhood. My experience of the eighties and nineties was NOT that everyone just got along. It was that white people were fine with Black people until Black people asked that the boot be removed from their neck. Then they busted out the “N” word and the fists.

They have stories, and reasons for their current state. Yes, some of the folks I helped used the money I gave them for drugs, or alcohol, but so what. I gave them the money for what they needed. It’s not my place to decide what those needs are.

He’d approach me on my lunch which I always spent outside, even in bitter weather, and I’d tell him to wait, go in, grab the kibble, $20 for him, and then offer to buy him lunch. As far as I know he’s still living down there, though his dog passed away a few years ago. My point is, they’re people

He texts me once in a while to let me know how he’s doing. Kenny is schizophrenic and his life blew up when his symptoms presented. He lives on the streets with his dog and cat. He will go without food to make sure they are fed. I always made sure I had a bag of kibble for each in my office.

and bought him warm, moisture wicking socks, and chemical handwarmers. When he told me he had gotten a job as a mechanic and had been placed in a housing situation to help him back on his feet I hugged him, took him to lunch to celebrate, and gave him $100 to tide him over until his first paycheck

so if they got robbed they didn’t lose $20, they lost maybe $2. I bought new boots for Brian (who became homeless after a house fire that killed his wife and daughter) when he appeared without shoes after having three toes amputated due to frostbite

I get a lot of flack over the unhoused from my family. When I worked in the city there were folks I saw regularly. I learned their names, their stories, and always kept small bills in my pocket for them (small bills because they could hide them in different spots on their bodies

Apparently back then “partial hysterectomy” meant they removed one of her ovaries, half of the other, and sewed her uterus to her bladder.

My grandmother had a partial hysterectomy back in the late 1930’s. She had my mother in 1941.

I gave up on flying when they made the seats so close that as a 5'9" broad shouldered woman I couldn't sit comfortably if there were other people seated in my row.

Hope doesn't perch tamely, singing sweetly to you of better days. Hope is wily and hides from you. Hope requires skill to acquire, and tenacity to cling to.
