You might be thinking about the Brownback years? Our legislature is largely shite but Laura Kelly has done a good job of keeping us in the black over the past few years.

Here's the conundrum: Hungary is basically the same size as Indiana, which makes it way easier for a critical mass of citizens to gather in one place. How do we as Americans overcome the sheer size of our country to stage an effective protest?

Just checking back in for suggestions of useful action steps besides actually talking to my neighbors, community gardens, and putting signs in my yard?

I also don't go in for conspiracy theories, but a thought I've had is that the billionaires know climate change is real, and their odds of riding it out are way better if there are a lot fewer people competing for resources.

I'm having real trouble seeing the through line, though, between hosting a potluck and getting Trump to comply with court orders, or putting the kibosh on DOGE. I'm wanting somebody to explain to me what citizens can be doing to make a difference there, and this list ain't it.

Most of the suggestions seem...disappointingly lame and ineffectual?

It's also MLK Jr. Day, so consider spending it in service to your community.

Yikes! No need to "demand" a book be ordered--just ask!

Why doesn't someone with their own drone send it up to check out what's going on?
