Important part of the sauce for me is that in Overlord, he's also entirely willing to try to treat others as people, even when he knows some of them are game entities. He's got a willingness to get invested in the new world he's in that always feels missing in other isekais.

My aunt makes a really great lasagna when she makes it to our Thanksgiving. I've been getting into cooking, though. When I broke down the turkey for stock, I ended up making a turkey miso soup they loved. (Hypnotically Caucasian for context). Dunno what I'm gonna do this year. Maybe squash curry.

This works with GM voice too. Honestly, if you want to do voices at your table for a TTRPG, going and volunteering to read for kids is an excellent way to build confidence in your repertoire. If you experiment and try a voice that doesn't work out? They're still entertained by the silly flub.

Local used book stores and comic book shops have a natural inverse relationship between cleanliness and interestingness of their stock. If the shop looks minimalist then that's because they have minimal things. Find somewhere where the ref pics look cluttered as hell. You will find something cool.
