If you haven’t read it yet, I hope you will. If you have, we’d love to hear what resonated with you. "Toughness is not the opposite of vulnerability. It simply implies the ability to withstand strain without breaking. We never want to see emerging LGBTQ+ leaders break.“ – Forging Queer Leaders

Adversity can build strength, but too much, too fast, can also break people. That’s why we wrote this book: to help LGBTQ+ folks and their allies understand how resilience is formed, how to support it, and how to channel it into inclusive, courageous leadership.

At its core, the book explores how the crucible moments faced by LGBTQ+ individuals don’t just shape them, they forge them into leaders who care deeply about making the world better for everyone. And in today’s climate, those crucibles are multiplying.

He expertly identifies the impact on service members, those around us, and the nation. If you want to get up to speed on everything, this is the interview you want to listen to. I almost dare you not to walk away impressed by the caliber of people we are losing.

As we celebrate World Pride, we need to recommit ourselves to the fight for authenticity. For service. For humanity. Only by standing united can we get there. Let's make these shirts a relic again.

Facing not only the hardships of military life but also the challenges of being transgender in a country that has not always welcomed them, and now casts them as dishonorable liars, they have stood strong.

From courageous soldiers on the frontlines to brilliant strategists, cyber operators, medics, pilots, and leaders, these individuals have shown unflagging dedication, skill, and patriotism.

I’m also deeply thankful for those who served, and those who will serve tomorrow, who raised their hands knowing the risk to carry a burden so others don’t have to. This Memorial Day, please take a moment to remember those who never got the chance to lay that burden down.
