Solo travel is amazing. It’s so fun to be able to do whatever you want whenever you want without having to get anyone else’s approval. Making a trip 100% about your experiences is very fulfilling!

I don’t understand why he even sees this approach as politically advantageous. He’s not running for county executive. Is it purely fear of becoming a target for the administration?

Rural roads are more chill but I have also been riding alone amongst corn fields with no traffic in either direction and had a huge pickup come along and pass close and horn blast me on multiple occasions in western NY

Yes, I am very chill on the bike riding on rural roads or bike paths. My emotions are on a hair trigger on my city neighborhood streets where I have almost been killed by SUVs on multiple occasions

I’m worried about bank runs and Elon eliminating the FDIC…

It’s unbelievable how often this guy is being uncritically featured in our local news

I went to college in Worcester (thankfully not at Assumption) and was trying to remember where else I saw Assumption in the news recently. Great job NYT.

Yep, millions or tens of millions probably have SS as sole income.

It seems like people should really be asking elderly parents and loved ones about their finances in the event social security payments stop coming. Because it seems like we are heading rapidly in that direction.

Oh that sucks, I used to have Fubo because it’s the only streamer that includes MSG network. The picture quality is unbelievably awful

I’m unfamiliar with the NHL Network issue, where IS it available? Is it a cable subscription only thing? Does YouTube TV include it?

Seemingly almost everyone I know feels this way including moderates who are usually not very politically engaged, and yet it seems nothing can break through to the DC Democrats.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who immediately thought of this seeing the Elon image

This stuff is so depressing. I know they’ve always been “like this” but I guess I wanted to believe they would rise to the moment just a little bit more.

I’m sure there’s been exceptions where I thought they made it fun but can’t think of any offhand. Most games at least seem to have realized the “breath meter” mechanic is tiresome and immediately have you find some magical or technological gadget that lets you breathe underwater

Oh god that has swimming? It’s the only one I haven’t played 😅
comment in response to

Playing Elden Ring last night I was just thinking about how cool it is that in all those games you absolutely cannot swim and there are no underwater levels. One of my least favorite game tropes.

That is good to hear. I wish the county would at least occasionally use street sweepers to clear debris from these painted lanes. The ones on 15A by Costco have *never* been cleaned and seem like 50% broken glass.
comment in response to

Hopefully this will lead to something better than the abysmally inadequate “bike lanes” the county recently painted into a short section of Brighton Henrietta Townline Road.

Next door neighbor suffers from this. I believe she is now in a nursing home due to a fall. She would sit on her porch in the rain because there was nowhere to sit inside the house. I worry because the house seems like a huge fire hazard and it’s very close to my house.

They didn’t run a “base campaign”, it was nonstop Liz Cheney and appeals to suburban Republicans / Nikki Haley supporters?
comment in response to

Yeah it’s just the history doing it to people. I basically made a conscious decision to think “my team is gonna win” in 2020 which is what actual CBT would tell people to do :)

There’s a tremendous need for this in the Bills fanbase. The takes coming from just my family members during games you’d think they were a 7-7 team with Tyrod Taylor at QB just praying to get into the playoffs

I think another factor is Elon gave out the blue checks free to big accounts over certain numbers of followers so you had some of those people saying “what’s the big deal” because they weren’t seeing the utterly deranged scam ads among other things

Assuming you wrote this before the Sabres blew a 4-0 lead to lose 5-4 in regulation… amazing timing!

He’s an elite player with 12 seasons in the league, he knows how to stay in shape. He wants to win a Super Bowl. He brings something to the position Hamlin doesn’t.

Very similar to mine except it was a tower and had a smaller hard drive. Got it a month or two after Win95 came out. Everything I know about computers goes back to figuring out how to get on a BBS to download driver updates for the crappy OEM components to get them to run games in DOS boot mode.

Cooper wrist injury means he’ll have no problem running routes and drawing coverage. Shakir gets more snaps without Coleman and Kincaid. RBs could have a big day.

Isn’t the Threads user count inflated by being available to anyone with Facebook and Instagram? Is there any data on how many active users it actually has? I don’t know a single person who uses it

The Sky Follower Bridge chrome extension is helpful for finding people on here. It turns up some false positives (people using a bsky handle the same as someone’s twitter account) but it’s pretty easy to spot those.

You can control your own experience but not the fact that X is Elon’s Nazi abuse and disinformation app. The ads are totally obscene and you have to pay him to make them go away too. I just can’t stomach it any longer.
