Evacuate NY for fear of //checks notes// free bus fare? I know bigotry never makes sense but wow. Btw if anyone needs a dose of reality to help de-propagandize the family group chat, here's Mamdani's legislation from his time in the NY State Assembly: assembly.state.ny.us/mem/Zohran-K...

Yeah, I feel you. But you never know! Women's suffrage in the US happened in one lifetime. Rosa Parks to the Civil Rights Act was less than 10 years. The Confederacy only existed for 4 years. We might not see all the results of the work we're doing now, but maybe some. Fingers crossed 🀞

Here are more good news/happy vibes accounts. Good things are still happening in the world, they just don't get pushed by the algorithm/news cycle. There's so much wrong with the world but there's still progress and hope. www.tiktok.com/@thatgoodnew... www.tiktok.com/@jacobsimons...

I try to remind myself that past generations have asked this same thing and felt just as hopeless. Things looked so bleak back then but people stood up and eventually made it better. We can, too. Also here's some good news to refill your emotional tank: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl5y...

Idk if it applies, but routine can be extra helpful for neurodivergent people. Making new choices requires executive function, which tends to be impaired/low in ND people. Having routinelettes in the back pocket (as simple as a pre-chosen fave food order or outfit) can spare EF on stressful days.

I feel like at least once a week I fall down a rabbit hole and teach myself a documentary's worth of stuff on a random topic haha

This! I wish people would view animators like chefs: anyone can cook, but to be a top chef requires years of dedicated study, practice, and skill. It's a balance of artistry and business savvy on a strict timeline. It's gratifying work and I love it, but it's definitely no cakewalk.

I absolutely love these but can I also ask why the treatment for the second one is named pocari sweat? Lol is it a reference to a specific pocari sweat commercial, or an in joke or?

Both Yun and Kim lived fascinating lives outside the cultural and political expectations of their time and left a lasting artistic impact. Adaptations of Yun's life include the films Yun Sim-Deok (1969) and Death Song (1991), the musical Praise of Death (2013), and the series Hymn of Death (2018).

In 1926, Yun & Kim disappeared on a ferry to Busan. Tho reported as lovers' suicide, scandal surrounding the affair and attacks on Yun's social status made it difficult to sort fact from fiction. Some even speculated the pair survived & started over in Europe. www.m-joongang.com/news/article...

The lyrics for Hymn of Death were likely inspired by famous playwright, poet, and writer U-jin/Woojin Kim (κΉ€μš°μ§„), whose work often featured themes of death and escape. Kim and Yun were rumored to be having an on-again-off-again affair for several years (Kim's father married him off as a teen).

Hymn of Death (μ‚¬μ˜ μ°¬λ―Έ) was the final and most famous song by Yun, who was dubbed "Korea's first soprano". The song was based on the Ivanovici waltz, Waves of the Danube, and featured original Korean lyrics (link below to the audio, Korean lyrics, and English translation). byeon.com/k-pop-the-hy...

I'm friends with some absolutely amazing extroverts and they'll message me at 10pm like 'hey just got off work, wanna go to the club' and I'm over here in pjs thinking 'it's not even a people day today' lollll. I'm in awe of them but I don't know how they do it.
