This is from the essay / love letter addressed to a convenience store. I think I'm going to think about this specific quote for the rest of my life

Convenience Store Woman. I liked the book but I loved the essay in the back like one hundred thousand times more. I'm going to post a quote in the next post because it has me over the moon

this was raunchy and weird and explored gender identity and presentation in ways that equally felt uncomfortably familiar. good book! i couldn't really put it down and kept thinking about it when i was busy. broder's writing voice is so unique and silly

a lot of the conversation about weight and fatness was interesting, and I think it's important to be able to freely talk about the intersection between "obsession with fat fetishism" and "obsession with being thin," particularly in the realm of eating disorders

woefully behind on this thread but i read Milk Fed this week and came out mildly obsessed. ultimately it could have been pushed further in the latter half but i love stories about obsession and toxic thought patterns. found it a bit too uncomfortably relatable especially re: perception of the self.
