if constitutional rights only apply to individuals or states that have sued for relief, you don't actually have constitutional _rights_, you have _privileges_ that can sometimes (but not always) be secured for you by your lawyer

The democratic political establishment is so terrified of #Mamdani that they first backed someone with a history of sexual misconduct and are now considering backing someone in the pocket of #Trump and who has been accused of bribery and accepting illegal gifts. 24 years after NYC was attacked by terrorists claiming to act in the name of Islam, NYC nominated a Muslim democratic socialist to be their mayor. If that doesn’t give you hope for humanity, I don’t know what will. Congrats Zohran, and congrats NYC. #Mamdani #NYC #cuomo

The most stunning thing about this is that it’s stunning at all. Cuomo was propped up by big money donors who shamelessly looked past his history of sexual misconduct and other transgressions. Mamdani should’ve had the support of the party from the beginning. Congrats to all of NYC. It’s a new day.
