Musk is going to find out the same thing that Andrew Yang did a few years ago. All this stuff about “the 80% in the middle” and “people just want common sense solutions” etc turns out to be total BS when you have to take actual positions on issues.

Like, guys … Dylan is alive and there’s thousands of hours of real film about him. You don’t need Timothee fucking Chalamet.

I don’t understand the rationale for these movies … “Gee I really like Bob Dylan, and I would love to hear Timothee fucking Chalamet sing his songs.”

Guys the “Bring Them Home” movement is actually anti-Netanyahu.

Millions of people went to voting booths believing we were in the midst of a massive crime wave. It was totally, utterly false. But the narrative had so taken hold that it became a gaff to say it was false. And the reason it took hold was because Biden was incapable of fighting daily messaging wars.

Serious question: If they’re not displaying any badges or wearing the uniform of any law enforcement agency, why wouldn’t anyone they encounter be entitled to “stand their ground”?

Burdening the children of the working class with a lifetime of debt for having the audacity to go to college without a trust fund just makes a mockery of the idea that our colleges are vehicles for social mobility.

Exactly. At 17-18 years old, a kid from a working class family is faced with a decision: (1) Accept that he or she just can’t go to college in America and enter life with all of the social and economic ills around you or (2) Take a risk and fund college with student loans.

More people need to talk about how the BBB would extend the income based repayment period to *30* years. Everyone knows that people delay buying a house and having kids due to student loans. Now this law will affect people’s *retirement* — all due to their *parents’* income when they were 18.

And they’re under the impression that “elites” with blue hair and gender studies degrees are the only ppl asking for student loan relief. But “elites” don’t take out student loans at all. People from working and lower-middle class families who are the first to go to college are the ones getting hurt

You would think it would be a red flag that, after over a decade, the only actual useful purpose for crypto that has been found is massive financial crime.

I struggle to understand the rule being applied here. Can anyone who can trace their ancestry to one of the hundreds of ethnic groups displaced by the Roman Empire decide to return and have title to the land superior to that of the people who lived there in the intervening 2,000 years?

All of that is downstream from the fact that Trump is like an OJ Simpson for whites. Eveyone knew he was a scumbag who didn’t actually give shit about the community that was supporting him. But letting yourself believe him was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to really stick it to people you hate.

In 2004, one of Bush supporters’ main talking points was “You may not agree with him, but you know where he stands.” I always wondered, why on earth would it be appealing to vote for someone that you know for sure you disagree with?

Among other things, we shouldn’t let cops get in the habit of thinking they’re entitled to any cooperation or respect beyond just showing your ID.

I support that. But I think it’s important to acknowledge that representation on the ticket or in the administration hasn’t resulted in the outpouring of support from those communities that was expected.

Brinkema's response to ICE's affidavit trying to prove TdA membership. "This is a terrible, terrible affidavit. If this were before me in a criminal case and you were asking to get a warrant issued on this, I'd throw you out of my chambers." At the end of the rant, he grants the habeas petition!

True. And Biden let totally wrong ideas about crime, immigration, and inflation take hold—to the point it became a gaff to just say the truth. If he had done daily interactions with the press he could have shaped the narrative. But he didn’t do that because he was physically and mentally incapable.

This period is known as Europe’s peaceful past before immigrants brought violence to the continent for the first time.

Clearly people want new energy and new ideas. It would get a ton of positive free press. And with enormous issues like AI and online misinformation amplified by algorithms etc., it would be nice if our elected representatives knew how to turn on a computer.

Dems should say — across the board — any Rep or Senator in a solid blue district/state who’s over 70 years old will not seek reelection (if Dems might lose the seat, they can stay). Eveyone is beyond disgusted with these people who’ve been there forever and have no idea what to do right now.

Politics really over complicates this. Is just basic common decency to refer to people the way they prefer and mind your own business. Imagine insisting on calling someone Bobby after they make clear they prefer Robert. What kind of jerk would do that? It’s really not more complicated than that.

Things like AI, online misinformation fueled by algorithms, cryptocurrency facilitating cyber crime … these are HUGE issues for the future. It would be nice if our elected representatives were capable of turning on a computer.

Honestly, the Dems should just say, across the board, it a Dem rep or senator is in a safe blue district/state and is over 70 years old, they will not seek reelection. (If Dems might lose the seat, the person can stay). It would inject a lot of energy and get a lot of positive press. Need a reset.
