“great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people” Nice one. Had never heard it before.

I don't and haven't and wont deny any of that. It depends what you do with and about that information on crimes. To my mind it's not worth exacerbating climate crisis as we've been doing, destroying Earth, extinction of our species. It's warmongering, however caused. We need a toughminded pacifism.

The blatant warmongering was one major reason I cancelled my subscription. I'm not saying the Bear is blameless, of course he isn't, but we MUST find other ways of REALLY dealing with bears other than Earth-threatening fratricidal destructions. And Uncle-Sam-UK not blameless either.

As I read this article I found the words were being "sounded" in my mind in the tones of Enoch Powell at his most apocalyptic. It was quite uncanny and discomfiting.

Btw, @seymourhersh.substack.com.web.brid.gy and those Baltic cables? Yes? Biden's pre-boast? And nothing about NATO Eastwards provocation? We're heading (climate crisis) for existential disaster and your modern skulls house stone-age brains. Your warnings are more rallying cries. Nukes ain't gone.

Luke H has gone seriously downhill since the heady Wikileaks days and his involvement with a government agency as the Guardian tried to save itself (while surrendering its soul) from punitive closure. has turned him. He's no different from the other warmongers now.

How will that (if it does) affect our everyday lives? Broadcasts? Internet? Power cutouts? Health? Personal devices?

Talk is cheap, even from decent politicians. I don't listen much to them any more after a few paragraphs of it.

But I did want to know if the medics tried the new antidementia drugs on him. Any evidence?

I'd like to see a good in-depth analysis of those women (a few of whom I knew personally) who said they had no problem with "transwomen" ("A woman is anyone who says they're a woman"!) I challenged them on prisons, sports &c but they just got cross. The problem isn't being trans, it's crossing lines

Thank you. We should not have expanded East. Putin's clear wrongdoing was a response to our wrongdoing. He might have done it anyway but we made it easy for him. Even the evil of Nazism arose in the context of Versailles. And so it goes on until we blow ourselves up.

Get what? Please elaborate if you want to teach me something I don't know. Thanks in advance.

There were no nuclear weapons, climate change wasn't an issue, the world wasn't the tinderbox brink it is today. But maybe I've misunderstood & you're not suggesting another war to prevent a war?

But with system unchanged don't women have to out-man men to reach the top? And remain "men" to fight to stay there? Easy to cite examples.

I had to look up the Urban Dictionary for this one. I don't think the DSM deals with it, tho' I've not seen the latest edition.

"Why should genitals supersede brains?" is the question that in a wholly different context Carl Jung asked about Freud's psychoanalysis. Problem is that phenomenologically my subjective reality clashes with the intersubjectivities of others. What they see isn't what I feel. (Any 'they', any 'I'.)

Yes as I once wrote on X, if Israel wants to prevent comparisons of its actions to those of the Nazis it should simply stop behaving like Nazis.

Pol't'cns have to start from where "the people" are but that must not let them stop leading the ppl to better places. But too often they just mislead the people.

Ben was on to something there.

Paraphrase Gertrude Stein, there's never been an answer, there ain't gonna be an answer; that's the answer. Two-hundred thousand years of us emerged from the dust of natural selection - & still prone to being overcome by our own reptilian brains.
