Retailers like Target, Walmart, and Gamestop are misleading people when they say you can show up in-store on launch day to pick up a Switch 2. They know they won’t have enough inventory for 99% of the people who show up and are hoping you’ll spend money on something else.

I kept up pretty well with Dr. Who through the Matt Smith era, and wavered midway through Capaldi's run, but the MCU-ification of the show and the capital-P Plotlines have made it so difficult to keep up. It's work! Give me story of the week and dodgy lore and maybe (maybe!) I'll tune back in.

The anti-AI crowd is fucking unhinged.

In about 9 months, it’ll be interesting to see who the baby resembles.

I started Zepbound about 10 weeks ago because my weight crept up to around 212 lbs and I received concerning pre-diabetic results from a routine blood test. (5’10” / 48 yrs old.) I’m now down to 186, so have lost around 25 lbs.

We went from “black lives matter” to “it’s the policy of the federal government that acknowledging black lives is racist against white people and strictly forbidden.”

I’m generally neither here nor there on the Tush Push until Eagles fans and players start talking about it sounding like my wife circa 2006 arguing that flailing in Wii Sports Boxing “isn’t cheating you’re just mad you can’t defend against it” and that trauma makes me anti Tush Push.

Setting aside that the vast majority of Trump's executive orders are blatantly unconstitutional, it's probably good that he's taking this shortcut to wreck democracy because (sigh, god willing) the next President can just undo them with a single executive order. (Hopefully someone's keeping a list.)

The way you can tell Tripp Mickle doesn’t take his work seriously is that he’s getting absolutely excoriated for what he wrote about the iPhone and China on multiple fronts—including that it’s a hack piece—and I’d bet he’ll never attempt to defend what he wrote. daringfireball.net/2025/05/idio...

The Jake Tapper book is a bit of a sketchy grift and the way it’s being promoted on his network is super gross, but people rushing in to defend Biden are deluded and need to get their fucking heads out of the sand.

Re-upping my “Uber, but for getting a Brazilian wax” idea, to be called Puber.

I downloaded (and then deleted) Fortnite for iOS just to see what the new payment options looked like and, alas, it’s the same over-designed mess that it is on every other platform.

So, Epic now saves 30% if consumers use their real money to buy Epic’s fake money via their payment processor and they’re passing that on NOT by making games and purchases 30% cheaper, but by offering 20% back in “fake money rewards” to encourage more purchasing in their store.

Sesame Street was such an obvious fit for Apple and Apple TV+ so I’m bummed to see it go to Netflix, even though Sesame Street has lost a bit of what made it special. I do applaud Netflix for making it free on PBS the day new episodes air, though.

USA Today seems to think a scare link that says “I don’t support independent journalism” will shame me into turning off my ad blocker. *Click*

Joe Biden could be in the deepest throes of dementia, bed-ridden and infirm—everything people say and far worse—and he’d still be a better president than Donald Trump.

Dear Quartiles: I beg to differ.

Assuming this isn’t a technical issue tied to Epic’s attempt to submit the same app in the US that they submit in the EU, I suspect Apple is going to claim Epic’s Swedish account breached a ruling by a US court when it knowingly submitted a banned app to the US App Store.

Jesus fucking christ it’s no wonder that people hate mainstream media: It seems SCOTUS is both going to rule in favor of and against Trump on this one.

I’m 99% of the way through Assassin’s Creed: Shadows (just tying up some side-quest loose ends) and based on the number of times the seasons cycled throughout my campaign I would conservatively estimate that Naoe and Yasuke are now around 180 years old.

I don’t think I’ll be donating during elections anymore, and certainly not through any of the typical left-leaning fundraisers — I bet I got bullshit automated requests for money from over 100 different numbers in 2024 and I’m still getting them to this day. It’s impossible to stop them.

If this were going to happen, it would most likely happen quietly near close of business on a Friday, but I continue to have doubts that Fortnite is coming back to the App Store, even under this loophole, no matter how many idiotic headlines assert otherwise.

Republicans to @aoc.bsky.social: “Stop talking to the camera!” Meanwhile, Republicans:

Of the two people who are definitely running in 2028 but refusing to admit that they’re definitely running, I’m 100% team Pete Buttigieg over team Gavin “Race to the Right” Newsom.

You’d think people would realize Sweeney’s loophole was never going to work (as I’m sure he knew all along) but these tech writers seem determined to believe it’s just a matter of time. gameluster.com/apples-app-s...

If I ever went on Shark Tank, my pitch would be pretty simple: “It’s very similar to the Boy Scouts, but there’s no sexual abuse.” (Also, girls can join if they want to.)

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Apple doesn’t plan to let Fortnite back on the App Store, despite Epic’s attempt to exploit a Swedish developer account loophole:

I see Trump overpromised and underdelivered on his UK trade deal and I also see that news outlets are nevertheless calling this weak-sauce deal that doesn’t even get us back to the status quo as a “major victory.”
